Requests for registration
Please read the guide on the main page before requesting permission. In applying for AWB access, you indicate that you will abide by its terms.
Also, this page is for requesting AWB Access for this wiki (English Wikipedia) only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.
Please add your name to the bottom of the list using *
. Enter your user name exactly as it is, do not add underscores instead of spaces or change the case of the first letter.
{{AWBUser|your username}}

If the list contains undecided entries that are over 48 hours old, please add
to the top of this page.
{{Admin backlog}}
Note that users with under 500 mainspace non-automated edits are rarely approved. You only need to give a reason for wanting AWB access if you have fewer than 500 mainspace non-automated edits.
If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage.

- IMHO 263 mainspace edits is too few where generally at least 500 are required to demonstrate a knowledge of how WP works. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:09, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

- Almost all edits automated (reverts) Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:10, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, a great portion of my edits are a product of Huggle. However, I am interested in becoming less of a vandal reverter and focusing on article content issues like grammar, tone, spelling and punctuation. I had hoped my constructive use of automated tools in the past would garner some modicum of trust in the consideration process.The Illusive Man(Contact) 01:09, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

- W.D. (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) note that I filed a request on my old account (Willdude123) before the username change and because it was there for so long, in the period of that I changed username, which was why my request was declined.User Talk:W.D. 07:33, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yes we remember you Mr Dude, but you still have not taken up much constructive editing to show your skill. I would first like to see a few hundred non revert edits, that do not remove content but add content instead. 12:21, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

- Need bot access for auto-save option when distributing talk page notices. Very rare need to do so, but it becomes quite tedious to have to click "Save" when you only posting a talk page notice. Already have AWB permission, just would like to be able to use as a bot if needed. I don't need it often enough to constitute setting up a bot account, but I can do so if necessary. AndrewN talk 23:35, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
- Comment I do not see a need for the user to do this, as they could easily install the AFC script, and have this done for them. He has already used AWB for this, and hasn't notified users. The script does this, and it is easily installable. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 23:47, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
- I think they are referring to distributing talkpage notices on behalf on the AfC project -- like this one. Curiously, Andrew appears to be asking for the bot flag on his personal account which is not only unheard of, but also out-width the scope of this page, which is for requesting AWB rights for users and approved/trail approved bots. Pol430 talk to me 22:28, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
- Regardless, he is not notifying any of the users when he declines their article, which is interesting, because he has also created template this past week where he ended up mass-tagging articles for speedy deletion, which would eventually include these articles if the template stayed around long enough. Looking back, I get what he means, but this makes no sense now that you brought that up. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 19:29, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- I'm sure if it was the notice like what Pol430 mentioned, he could let a newsletter bot do it for him whenever needed. Hazard-SJ ✈ 01:25, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- I know, I was just on a bit of a badly timed rant. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 14:11, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

- Not done Bots need to be approved at WP:BRFA and should not be run on the user's primary account. - Kingpin13 (talk) 15:11, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
