TedderBot annotations

I remember inquiring a while back about whether or not the bot could leave the front or back of each line alone so that I could mark items as unrelated. I think another user was marking items checked as well. Just wondering if that was coming along or stalled. Thanks!--Dudemanfellabra (talk) 19:35, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Keeping this active. Yeah, I've made some progress towards enabling this, but it isn't ready. Remind me if you haven't heard back by October. tedder (talk) 02:48, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick reminder. I haven't been adding the annotations to the NRHP list until this is added. There are a few on there that I would like to be able to tag, but I understand the complexity of it. Just checking! Keep up the good work!--Dudemanfellabra (talk) 18:32, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please assist in supporting wp csd policy for deletion.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lperez2029 (talkcontribs) 02:37, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't edit war from both a registered account and an IP. Also, you are claiming G7 of the CSD. You are failing in several criteria in a single sentence: "If requested in good faith and provided that the only substantial content to the page and to the associated talk page was added by its author." tedder (talk) 02:59, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:86.140.76.122

I noticed that you recently reverted User:86.140.76.122's edits to the Oregon article, and I wanted to let you know that this user has made similar edits to other U.S. state articles which have shown up on my WatchList including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Pennsylvania. Any assistance you provide in reviewing the edits in question and possibly contacting the user would be most appreciated. --TommyBoy (talk) 21:37, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done and done. Sigh. tedder (talk) 21:50, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Culver High

Thanks, Tedder. I have zero interest in self-promoting at Culver High. A bunch of Culver High alumni were with me and wondered why "their" Olympian was not listed on the page; I was with some wiki editing experience; they wanted me to advance the page with "their" Olympian. So, would you please perhaps review the matter and perhaps improve the article with Culver High's Olympian, as you see fit. Joefaust (talk) 04:29, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Adding yourself with the link is self promotion enough, I'd think. Schools usually have an interesting idea about what "notable alumni" means to them, which differs from Wikipedia's policy. tedder (talk) 04:33, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Forget the link; that was for verification. A link to Rome 1960, the book, would do; the high school has many times over noted their Olympian. My personal online work is hard set simply to advance others. You might use: http://www.culverhighalumni.org/this-n-that.html Up to you. Joefaust (talk) 05:00, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question

I am not disagreeing with your action of removing a recent death tag from the Sister Boom Boom page, but since he only died Monday, two days ago - how can it be "stale?" I did read the instructions and since I placed the tag within hours of his death and the obituaries are only being published in major papers today, I still don't see how the tag got outdated. I'm not attacking you, please don't get upset, just I am curious what part of "recent" I missed out on when the event is within the same week? Ellin Beltz (talk) 18:57, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi- it was my bot that removes them under consensus from WP:CET. Basically, "recent" on Wikipedia means "frequently being edited". It isn't for anything that's ongoing (there are many ongoing events, fewer that are receiving massive edits at Wikipedia). By keeping the usage down, the list can be monitored. Hope that helps- let me know if you have further questions. Cheers, tedder (talk) 20:11, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. The page isn't getting massive edits, but I put the tag before when Mr. Fertig's death wasn't public to stop the edit war that was starting. Thank you for telling me what it is all about, I thought "recent death" was for anyone who was recently demised, to stop edit wars. My bad. I did read the instructions, honest! No worries at all. I promise that you have not been reported to the cabal. tedder (talk) 19:07, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Not notable"?!?

I don't mean to be a pain, but how is it that someone who runs a world-renowned program at an Ivy League institution "not notable"? Tim Vasen is very well-known, not only for his work at Princeton but also as a director in theatre. My understanding is that outright deletions of material are a violation of WP policy. If one wants something changed, should it not be put up for discussion first? SUNY Boy (talk) 15:50, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
