Talk:List of Shameless episodes/Attribution

Episodes

this page needs updating with the rest of the episodes

Abbot

I thought Abbott has not written an episode since Series 2? Isn't it pretty obvious considering the show no longer has its 2 main characters, alongside a noticable decline in quality during Series 3 and especially 4?

This is not a place to chat about personal feelings, however he wrote episode 4.8Russell >: 4 8 15 16 23 42 16:30, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
::Paul Abbott still has an "overall overview" of the series. He is an executive producer and still goes to meetings. Hardylane (talk) 17:37, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Template?

I think the tables in all the "List of....episodes" articles should look like the ones used in this article. (A kind of template). I've already modified List of Skins episodes and List of Waterloo Road episodes to look similar to this article and they look much better than before. I know there will be some exceptions by the way (see List of Doctor Who serials for example). What does everyone else think? yettie0711 (talk) 14:42, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Markup Error/Repetition

At the very bottom of the page the episode synopses for episodes 6.3 and 6.4 are repeated, and just above the second entry for 6.3 there is some markup visible (LineColor=....).

I apologise for just pointing this out rather than fixing it myself, but I don't know the first thing about Wiki Markup. 62.56.112.122 (talk) 03:34, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Updated and improved

People want a comment - well here it is! I've updated this article to look tidier and cleaner. Lord knows its a much bigger and vast improvement on what it was prior 92.10.173.136 (talk) 00:13, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Episode descriptions

Did the episode summaries need to be cut back so drastically? Now there is only information about the "A" story, leaving out big chunks of story. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.35.12.37 (talk) 08:36, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

definatley too short, yeah it looks tidy but it dosen't exactly describe the story lines well to anyone that hasn't seen them before 81.106.148.147 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:12, 10 January 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Lots of the later episode descriptions have been copied from the C4 website and need rewriting in a more original way Crookesmoor (talk) 16:22, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Series 8 (2011)

"In 2011, a new series of Shameless will air and this will have extended episode feature from the previous series' (5-7) which have had 16 episodes - this series will include a further eight episodes stretching the series length to 22 episodes." So, which is it? Is the series going to be 22 episodes long, or are they adding 8 more to the usual 16 for a total of 24? Dysperdis (talk) 02:06, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Air Dates

Technically on the air dates they are just been done for channel 4 air dates even though shameless also air's on E$ before channel 4 this should really be the first air date. Sfxprefects (talk) 16:44, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it should. The "official" airdate, according to Channel 4 is correct one. The E4 is a "First Look" preview showing, which is only available to digital TV viewers, and as such not the entire population, unlike Channel 4. Hardylane (talk) 17:36, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The dates have been changed to the E4 dates. Since we have no agreement about this, I am reverting to the Channel 4 date, as this is the OFFICIAL airdate. E4's "First Look" is a preview showing only, with no support on the Shameless website. Hardylane (talk) 04:37, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The episode descriptions have clearly been copied and pasted from the Channel 4 episode guide, in violation of our copyright policy. It editors wish to write a non-infringing list, they can start it at a temporary page, following the instructions in the template on the article page. Then, this version can be deleted and the new version moved here.--BelovedFreak 14:06, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Some of it may also have been lifted from The British Comedy Guide, but it's hard to tell which existed first, so it's possible there is a reverse infringement. The same summaries are also being used by various Fairfax Media sources ([1], [2], [3]). All of these are claiming copyright. --BelovedFreak 19:10, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've started a new version at Talk:List of Shameless episodes/Temp, basically the table with blank episode summaries. If anyone wishes they can help out by adding original summaries.--BelovedFreak 11:55, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate that this page gets a reasonable amount of traffic, and that having it blanked with a big template on is not ideal for our readers (I myself stumbled on the copyvio after coming here as a reader, out of interest in the series). However, repeatedly removing the template is not helpful. We cannot host material on Wikipedia that has been copied from other sources without permission. If people want to help, who have knowledge of the episodes, they can do so at Talk:List of Shameless episodes/Temp, and we can get the old version replaced with a new non-infringing version.

Series 3 and 5 missing descriptions

All the episodes descriptions for Series 3 and 5 are missing if anyone has time to write them and can't remember what happens they are available to watch on 4OD or you could just re-write them from the official synopsis . Sfxprefects (talk) 15:40, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Series 8 Return Date

Can someone stop editing the return date of shameless to 23rd August! Channel 4 have another show scheduled in that slot

Series 10

It has been stated by the Channel 4 facebook website that the series starting in September of 2012 will infact be the 10th series and not part 2 of the 9th series. [1] Could this please be rectified? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Djjazzyb (talkcontribs) 15:11, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Episode Titles?

Shameless UK has never had episode titles, the episodes have always been identified by their number, Series 1 Episode 1 for instance. I just noticed that all episodes on the page have been given titles. Does anyone know if this is some sort of official retcon or if someone unofficial just made them up for clarity? I've just checked and Channel 4's official episode guide doesn't include any of these purported episode titles either, just the the episode number as usual. A reason for the titles would be handy. -Lyco499 (talk) 15:30, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've noticed that all of the plot summaries are copied directly from the Channel 4 website. Also; the episodes, despite not being actually titled, all have titles. The episodes are referred to by the series and episode number, not a title, could this be rectified? KANE 18:03, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
