Rock Mafia is a record production/songwriting team, consisting of Tim James, Antonina Armato and Paul Palmer[1], who are credited for writing and producing many pop and rock artists beginning in the early 2000s such as Miley Cyrus, Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Selena Gomez & The Scene, Demi Lovato, Sick Puppies, Aura Dione, etc. Between the three partners of Rock Mafia, they have sold over 100 million albums worldwide, and over 10 million albums alone in 2007.[citation needed]

History

Rock Mafia has helped drive many recording artists in the 2000s to stardom, including Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez & The Scene, Aly and AJ, Sick Puppies, etc. In addition, they have worked with countless other artists, from the likes of Green Day, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Flo Rida, Ellie Goulding, Aura Dione, David Archuleta, Miranda Cosgrove, Victoria Justice, Hoku, Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron, Lucy Hale, Pia Toscano, to Stefano. In late 2010, Rock Mafia released a song featuring James' own vocals entitled "The Big Bang". The song was used as the theme song for the VH1 reality show "Mob Wives".[citation needed] "The Big Bang" music video featured Miley Cyrus and Kevin Zegers and currently has more than 14.5 million views on YouTube.[2] "The Big Bang" is featured on the video game FIFA 12, which launched in September 2011. Rock Mafia was in talks with potential writers and producers to bring the music video for "The Big Bang" to the big screens as a feature film. Armato revealed on her Twitter that she has been meeting with Tish Cyrus (Miley Cyrus' mother) and Jennifer Todd (producer of Alice in Wonderland and Memento) [3] Their song "Fly or Die" was in FIFA 13. [4]

Rock Mafia scored a hit in Europe with Aura Dione's hit single "Friends," a song written and produced together with David Jost.[5] A clip showing Miley Cyrus recording vocals over the "Pimps and Hos" track, which has now been renamed to "Morning Sun," has been posted online.[6] Rock Mafia was one of the handful of production teams handpicked by Jimmy Iovine to help coach and record with contestants from American Idol Season 10.
