Terence Lewis (born 10 April 1975) is an Indian choreographer. He is internationally trained and specialises in Indian folk, contemporary and neo-classical dance forms. He is also a choreographer in Bollywood films and musicals.[citation needed] He has been trained nationally and specializes in contemporary dance. Terence has also choreographed a number of films and musicals as a celebrity choreographer. Terence has choreographed a number of stage shows, Indian contemporary performances, Bollywood Shows, corporate launches, Broadway Westend musicals, feature films, several popular music videos, and has appeared in many advertisements. Terence won the American Choreography Award for his excellent choreography for songs of the movie Lagaan along with Saroj Khan, Raju Khan, Ganesh Hegde and Vaibhavi Merchant. He was the mentor for the Dance India Dance season 2 winner, Shakti Mohan. He has choreographed international stage shows, mega Bollywood shows, corporate launches, Broadway Westend musicals, feature films, ads and music videos. He is the first Indian to receive the prestigious Dance WEB Scholarship, representing India in Vienna, Austria. Terence represented Asia at the International Choreographers' Meet at the TANZ platform, Stuttgart, Germany. He is also a teacher at Impulstanz Festival at Vienna, Austria since 2007-08 teaching Bollywood and Indian contemporary dance.

Early life

He was born and raised in Mumbai to a Catholic family.Born to Xavier Lewis and Teresa Lewis, he is the youngest of eight siblings.

Works

His first choreography in a Hindi movie was the song Dil Ne Tumko From Jhankar Beats in 2003 . He was also the choreographer in films like John Mathew's Shikhar and Ram Gopal Verma's Naach. He also did Music videos like Adnan Sami's Kasam (with Amisha Patel), Stereo Nation's Ishq (with Koena Mitra) and Shaan, Saapna Mukherjee among others.

Terence also did international musicals like 'The Children of the sea' and 'Finding Marina' with the Civil War and Tsunami affected children in Sri Lanka.[1]

Dance India Dance

Terence Lewis has been a judge on Dance India Dance for its past two seasons. In season 1 he and his contestant, Alisha Singh, came in second place, with Mohammed Y.K Gouse (Salman Khan) in first. In Season 2, Terence and his dance partner, Shakti Mohan, won the contest by coming in first place. He is also going to judge another dance show on Colors (TV channel) called Chak Dhoom Dhoom.

With the beginning of Dance India Dance season 3, Terence is still part of the judging panel along with Remo D'Souza and Geeta Kapoor. The most shocking event to happen during the season 3 auditions was the participation of his former assistant, who did so without informing Terence. To be fair to the competition and it's other competitors, Terence did not judge his performance and left it to the other two judges, who selected him for the next round regardless.ji n

Fear Factor-Khatron Ke Khiladi(Level 3)

Terence was the contestant of Colors TV's Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi [Level 3] anchored by Priyanka Chopra.His partner was Ananya Kapoor from Indore/New Delhi studying engineering from Indore and did schooling from Air Force Bal Bharti School, New Delhi.(partner no.5) as chosen by the contestant Terence Lewis. The 3rd Level for 13 New Boys was held in Copacabana (Rio de Janeiro), Brazil. He's got eliminated on the 11th Episode.
