The article Northern Wisconsin National Canoe Base has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not clear how this meets notability guidelines.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. WikiProject

Hello, LPBrennan.

There is no formal procedure to join a wikiproject. Just go to the project's wikipage and add yourself to the member list. You might also add one of the Member userbox templates to your user page. If you need help for a specific action, just ask. I usually check my talk page daily--some weekends I don't. Given the importance of trains in the development of Florida, there is an absence of good information on the topic, so any contribution would be welcome. Mgrē@sŏn 15:47, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Images for streetcar articles

Greetings, note that images published in the US prior to 1923 are out of copyright; the article would look great if you could do some image-grabs of old flyers, adverts, etc. and add one to each article for any of these older transport systems. Bear it in mind, and don't be afraid to ask for help, since learning image work takes a few times to get the feel for it.

Thanks for your work fleshing out this aspect of Wiki! MatthewVanitas (talk) 17:53, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

LPBrennan, I'll keep all my replies on this page here, so we can have the conversation in one place. If you reply from me and don't hear back immediately, you can just "ping" (remind) me to check here by posting the following code on my page: {{talkback|User_talk:LPBrennan}} Same goes for anyone else who posts here, and you want to go to their Talk and tell them "hey, I replied to you back on my page."
So far as questions, to start a new article just enter the exact title you want in the Search box at top. Hit search, it'll say "There's no such article as West-Eastern Acme Streetcar Line, would you like to create it?" Just hit the "create" button and it'll give you a blank page where you can start writing. That's just if you're ready to publish right away. Alternately, at the top of the page in the URL line of your browser, you can just append the "User:LPBrennan" with "/West-Eastern Acme Streetcar Line", hit return, and you'll be able to start a new article as well. Since it's within your own User pages, it won't publish until you explicitly move it to the main article space.
So far as pictures, whenever you feel relaxed and ready to learn, and have a picture file on your computer of a pre-1923 image, come let me know and I'll walk you through it.
So far as copying coding from articles you like, yes, that's a great way to do it! Learning by observing certainly works, and I've learned a lot of wikicode that way. Glad to hear it's working for you, and ping with with questions as needed, or you can take it to the Teahouse if a larger body of helpers would be good. Matthew- Thank you- I checked the editing on an article with a picture and added my first to Commons and the article on Leesburg Transfer Company. However, I can't yet get a thumbnail. The article I copied had a picture that was thumbnailed, but I didn't get one- just the full size image.
