Vaglass (ヴァグラス, Vagurasu) is a fictional organization that serves as the antagonists in the 36th Super Sentai Series Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters. Led by the entity known as Messiah, Vaglass seeks to make the Earth more suitable to machines and seeks to wipe out the human race by tapping into the Energy Management Center's Enetron. However, sent into subspace, an alternate dimension where gravity is greater to the point that breathing can be painful and humans become living data, Messiah resolves to use its Avatars Enter and Escape to gather the vast amount of Enetron needed so Messiah can re-enter reality to assimilate the Earth to ensure its dominion. The Vaglass base of operations is the ruins of the Transport Research Center that ended up in subspace thirteen years prior and serves as Messiah's inactive body before it is destroyed with it.

Messiah

Messiah (メサイア, Mesaia) is originally an unknown computer virus that evolved from exposure to the Enetron within the Transport Research Center's computer that it infected on Christmas Day thirteen years prior to the start of the series. Reprogramming the Megazords and creating the entirety of Vaglass, Messiah intended to use a satellite system to extend its control to the entire planet due to its ability to assimilate inorganic matter. However, the three Go-Busters' parents and dozens of staff members including Masato Jin, the future Beet Buster, sacrificed themselves to send the entire Transport Research Center into subspace, trapping Messiah. However, having converted the entire Transport Research Center into its body, Messiah absorbed the digitized scientists to serve as its Engineers to oversee modifying the Vaglass forces while working to make its body active. Appearing as a giant energy skull, Messiah uses Enter to carry out a new assault on the city to amass enough Enetron for it to re-enter reality and assimilate the entire planet.[1][2]

Though it is a computer virus capable of wreaking mass havoc, it is actually fairly unintelligent with a short temper, single-tracked mind, and impatient attitude. However, due to Enter using the resources at the Living Body Program Research Institute, Messiah begins to evolve and creates an extension to act through, Messiah Cell (メサイアセル, Mesaia Seru), that is able to recreate Metaloids the Go-Busters defeat and regenerate. However, as the other Go-Busters manage to destroy the Messiah Cell, Red Buster destroys Messiah's core to honor the scientists' final wishes. However, Enter managed to make back-ups of Messiah's data in the Messiah Cards. As a result, Messiah lives on through the thirteen Messiah Metaloids.[3]

Messiah is voiced by Seiji Sasaki (佐々木 誠二, Sasaki Seiji).

Enter

Enter (エンター, Entā) is servant of Messiah, an Avatar created from combining various aspects of the scientists that "His Majesty" absorbed, including his googles and fluent French. Though he appears human, Enter's body is pure data, able to be easily be recreated when destroyed. Able to disguise himself with the touch of a button, Enter conducts espionage tactics against the Energy Management Center to obtain Enetron, using some of it to bring Metaloids to life through his laptop and a series of Metavirus cards. He rarely does battle with the Go-Busters personally, but is shown to sport cable-like tentacles from under his sleeves and is more than capable of handling himself. Beneath his frivolous and laid-back facade hides a very smart and manipulative nature, yet is very loyal to Messiah even when his plans are disapproved. After the debut of Go-Buster Oh, Enter resolves to focus his goal on increasing the number of created Metaloids in order to transport more Megazords into the city to speed up his agenda.

Although he steals the blueprints to the BC-04 Beetle to reverse engineer for a new attack strategy, Enter's scheme failed with the debut of Beet Buster and Stag Buster. However, Enter discovers a new method of placating Messiah's rapidly waning patience by replicating the Filmzord's ability to create projections of subspace on future Megazords, giving the evolved virus a euphoric taste of presence in the real world. When Escape was created as a result, relegated to Megazord transporting and Enetron theft, Enter succeeds in using the Living Body Program Research Institute's technology to evolve Messiah. By that time, discarding his coat and taking up a sword, Enter becomes serious as he fights the Go-Busters to keep them from entering subspace and then pilot the Megazord Type Epsilon to stop Go-Buster Ace from destroying Messiah's core. Unfortunately after the battle and still actived, Enter reveals that he was actually creating back-ups of Messiah's data to recreate his master while leading Vaglass in his place. His fight with Red Buster also convinced Enter that humans can not be underestimated as he intends to take Hiromu's data to fully grasp the human spirit and become a complete being. Enter later reveals he advanced himself with Messiah Card 04 and gained the ability to transform into Enter Unite (エンター・ユナイト, Entā Yunaito), able to overpower the Go-Busters' Powered Custom froms and extract Messiah Cards from their host bodies.

After the defeat of the KenTateloid, Enter is betrayed by Escape, who snags the Metaloid's two Messiah Cards and after mocking Escape, was crushed and killed by the Megazord Zeta.

Enter is portrayed by Syo Jinnai (陳内 将, Jinnai Shō).[1][2][4]

Megazord Epsilon (メガゾードε, Megazōdo Ipushiron) is Enter's personal Megazord, a flight-capable robot armed with a powerful railgun. Enter uses it for the first time during the events of Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters the Movie: Protect the Tokyo Enetower!.

Escape

Escape (エスケイプ, Esukeipu) is a female Avatar serving Messiah, whom she refers to as "Papa" and is extremely devoted to him. She was created to replace Enter, who loses favor with Messiah after failing several times to create human suffering. Her weapons of choice are her twin machine pistols with dog-headed charms Gog and Magog (ゴク&マゴク, Goku to Magoku), reflecting Hiromu's mother being one of the scientists that Escape was designed after. She also carries a tablet on her person to create Metaloids with, using Metavirus card "apps" instead of physical cards. Escape's main objective is to cause human suffering, insisting that Enter should just stick to transporting Megazords and siphoning Enetron. Unlike Enter, who is more reserved and cautious in his endeavors, Escape is a strong woman who delights in fighting strong opponents and actively fights the Go-Busters simply for pleasure rather than objective, finding an ideal opponent in Blue Buster while under the influence of his Weakpoint. After Red Buster destroys Messiah while the others destroy Messiah Cell, an angry Escape fled and resurfaced after learning of Enter's plans for Messiah. Though she detested Enter's actions, Escape is forced to work under him when he threatened to delete her.

Later on, when the Go-Busters had unlocked their Powered Custom, she became really eager to fight them, getting her wish when she faced Ryuji in his powered up form. This resulted in Gog and Magog being destroyed (though she repaired them later on) and Escape's data critically damaged while satisfied. However, wanting to keep the remaining Messiah Metaloids alive so Messiah can be reborn, Escape risks her very being when upgrading herself with the ability to transform into Escape Evolve (エスケイプ・エボルブ, Esukeipu Eborubu). While she can now contend with the Go-Busters Powered Custom, her body suffers from the resulting software bugs.

Though she followed him because he possessed a Messiah Card, Escape betrays Enter once obtaining Megazord Zeta and resolves to become the core of the reborn Messiah.

Escape is portrayed by Ayame Misaki (水崎 綾女, Misaki Ayame), who previously portrayed Miki Saotome, Sister Miki, in Cutie Honey: The Live.

Megazord Zeta (メガゾードζ, Megazōdo Zēta) is Escape's personal Megazord, a Type-Delta who Messiah Card 06 transfered into it to become Messiah's new vessel. Though unstable at first, Megazord Zeta upgrades upon absorbing Messiah Cards 09 and 12.

Buglers

The Buglers (バグラー, Bagurā) are Vaglass' robotic foot soldiers created by Enter using a Bugler Card on his computer. They are also capable of piloting giant Bugzords (バグゾード, Baguzōdo). The Bugzords are a set of robots Vaglass seems to have build into their Type Alpha Megazords for battle. They appear to be armored Buglers with cannons on their backs. They can be deployed from jettisoned-off cocoons from the Megazord's body or independently.[1][2]

Metaloids

The Metaloids (メタロイド, Metaroido) are Vaglass's robotic warriors, created when an item is infected with a Metavirus (メタウィルス, Metawirusu), an fragment of Messiah's data that mimics its inorganic assimilation and morphs an infected object into an artificial life form. The purpose of a Metaloid is to function as a beacon, allowing a Megazord to appear within a radius of 3 kilometers due to a margin of error caused by the teleportation process. However, this is not limited to the ground as Megazords can transport underground and in the sky and more often than not, the Vaglass can take advantage of the area around the beacon. In battle, the sole purpose of a Metaloid was to originally deal with the Go-Busters for as long as possible so the Megazord can appear and siphon Enetron. However, when Messiah creates Escape, the Metaloids are given the new objective to cause as much human suffering as they can.[1][2]

However, Enter uses another tuba and the Hoeru Ver. 2 Metavirus to create Tubaloid 2 (チューバロイド2, Chūbaroido Tsū) to carry out the second phase of the plan to use his sound waves to shatter whatever his predecessor's music hit. As Yellow Buster's gear is not effected, Tubaloid 2 abducts her to serve as a hostage so the Tubazord 2 can siphon Enetron without interference. However, once Enter's two-pronged attack is revealed, the Go-Busters' gear is modified to resist Tubaloid 2's attacks before he is destroyed.[16] Both Tubaloid and Tubaloid 2 are voiced by Junichi Suwabe (諏訪部 順一, Suwabe Jun'ichi).

Megazords

The Megazords (メガゾード, Megazōdo) are giant robots was built by the Energy Management Center during their early research into Enetron. Unfortunately, Messiah used the Megazords' program and turned against them before being sent into subspace. Placed in storage, a Megazord can be retrieved and modified after a Metaloid's Metavirus is downloaded into it, reformatting it to possess the same attributes as its source. Once the download is complete, a Megazord is then teleported from subspace into the city to go after the Enetron tanks, siphoning the energy and transferring it to Messiah. There are different base bodies of the Megazords, of which there is the fast-moving Type Alpha (タイプα, Taipu Arufa) that uses Bugzords in a fight, the brutish Type Beta (タイプβ, Taipu Bēta) and the multi-purpose Type Gamma (タイプγ, Taipu Ganma). There is also the Type Delta (タイプδ, Taipu Deruta) model based on the BC-04 Beetle's specs that is designed to execute mass destruction. Enter and Escape have their own personal Megazords called Type Epsilon (タイプε, Taipu Ipushiron), which is Enter's and Type Zeta (タイプζ, Taipu Zēta), which is Escape's.[1][2] Many of the Megazords are deployed to fight Great Go-Buster when it entered subspace, all of them destroyed in the process.
