Notice of change

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that if you are inactive for a continuous three year period, you will be unable to request return of the administrative user right. This includes inactive time prior to your desysopping if you were desysopped for inactivity and inactive time prior to the change in policy. Inactivity is defined as the absence of edits or logged actions. Until such time as you have been inactive for three years, you may request return of the tools at the bureaucrats' noticeboard. After you have been inactive for three years, you may seek return of the tools only through WP:RFA. Thank you. MBisanz talk 00:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Update

That's odd you weren't notified, because the rights were removed. To get them back, you should leave a note at WP:BN asking for them back and be sure to point out you were not notified of their removal. MBisanz talk 18:29, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry about what happened at BN. That isn't the way it should have been handled. MBisanz talk 03:48, 24 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
From me too, and I'd reconsider asking for the tools again sometime, since (procedurally) you would have been resysopped despite the questions being asked. Merry Christmas. Regards, — Moe Epsilon 22:02, 24 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you renew your resysop request, I will grant it immediately without waiting another 24 hours or asking any questions. Andrevan@ 04:09, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

BN

Hi Ligulem, We don't know each other, but I just read the WP:BN thread. I have Christmas guests, so I can t do this justice, but I tried to read the thread through your eyes, or at least, my eyes in a similar situation. I have been part of a community which I left for years and then returned. The return is with trepidation, who will be here, obviously a lot of new people, but will the veterans remember me, how will they greet me? Will it be like the return of a veteran to a small town, with a ticker tape parade, or maybe a little more subdued, with a lot of "great to see you again" and "hey, there's still a lot to do let's get to work". Yet it wasn't like that at all, it was the third degree. Why do you want the tools? Why are you qualified? Perhaps forgetting that a message was sent to you stating that you could simply ask for the bit back, and it would be granted.

Your response was remarkably measure given that the reception can't possibly have matched what you expected. I understand your final comment, and I don't even urge you to reconsider and ask again immediately, but I do hope you return, pick up editing , read some of the policies , and determine for yourself if you feel comfortable asking for the bit back.

As was hinted, there was a bad incident relatively recently, which is prompting some of the questions—I'm sorry you got caught in the cross-fire.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 14:22, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have given you autopatrolled, rollbacker, reviewer, and file mover, since as a former admin you can certainly handle these. --Rschen7754 01:15, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Very kind, thank you. Ligulem (talk) 01:22, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
