Hotel Splendid is the a 5-star hotel in Bečići, Montenegro. The hotel was built and completely reconstructed between 2005 and 2006.

Hotel’s history

Hotel Splendid is owned and managed by the Montenegro Stars Hotel Group. The management company was established in 2003. In December 2003 a land slot with the building of the former hotel Splendid was bought. Next year it was decided to demolish the old building and construct an entirely new, five-star resort. In February 2005 a first stone was put in the foundation of the future hotel. On July 13, 2006 the Splendid Conference & SPA Resort was opened.

Accommodation

The hotel has 322 rooms and suites in total, including 254 double rooms, 56 connected rooms, six rooms for the handicapped, a penthouse and a presidential suite, four junior suites with sea views and 13 wellness suites.

Each standard room offers double bed and a couch, private balcony (most rooms with a sea view or mountain view), automated bedside room control panel, TV system with international channels, mini bar, safe deposit box. Each standard room is 42 sq metres.

Junior suites are the enlarged version of the standard room, with a bedroom and a living room, each covers space of 54 sq metres.

Wellness suites are located in the same hotel building with the Splendid SPA. All rooms have a front sea view, a bedroom and a living room, large balcony, in-room jacuzzi and easy access to the SPA area. The room is 84 sq metres.

Penthouse apartment is located on the top floor and provides front sea view. In room are a private sauna and a swimming pool. The penthouse is 215 sq metres.

Presidential apartment is the largest accommodation in the hotel. It covers the territory of 385 sq meters. Presidential suite includes one master bedroom and two guest rooms with separate bathrooms and wardrobes, a living room and a dining room, a kitchenette, small fitness room with Technogym equipment, large terrace with a swimming pool and a private sauna. The suite can be independently accessed from the street or the helipad on the roof of the hotel.

Bars & Restaurants

There are 3 restaurants and 4 bars at the hotel premises. They are open for the hotel guests, as well as visitors outside the hotel.

La Bussola – 550 – 600 seats All-day-dining restaurant, located on the second floor, offers contemporary Mediterranean cuisine, as well as traditional Montenegrin dishes. Here the buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served.

Promenada – 150 seats Gourmet restaurant with Oriental cuisine. Located in the separate building, offers view over the hotel’s beach. Works for lunch and dinner, menu a la carte.

Terrasa sul Mare – 84 seats Fish restaurant on the third floor of the hotel, next to the conference zone. Open for lunch and dinner, menu a la carte.

Lobby Bar The largest bar in the hotel, covers the space around the main reception on the fourth floor. Open 24 hours, provides alcohol and non-alcohol beverages and selected snacks.

Conference bar – 60-80 seats Situated on the third floor and is a part of the conference zone. Offers both inside and outside seating. In the menu – cocktails and light snacks. Often serves as a cocktail venue during conferences and meetings.

Bracera pool bar 150 – 200 seats This bar is located on the first floor near the pool area and serves beverages and cold and hot snacks. Open throughout the day, menu a la carte.

Encenada beach bar Encenada bar is based in a separate building at the hotel’s beach. The bar works during the day and only in the high and peak season. Menu is a la carte, beverages and light food is served.

Conference facilities

Hotel Splendid manages the largest convention space in Montenegro: conference rooms of the hotel can accommodate over 700 people simultaneously. The hotel has three syndicate rooms for small groups, a media center for press events and a multifunctional large Hall of Dynasty (can be divided into three independent conference rooms). Conference equipment includes modern booth for the simultaneous translation.

Weddings & anniversaries

Hotel Splendid is one of the most popular venues for weddings and anniversaries arrangement in Montenegro. Splendid Conference & SPA Resort is conveniently located in close proximity to the key Montenegro towns as well as international airports. The hotel provides accommodation for the event’s hosts and guests, VIP transfer, rooms’ decoration, entertainment program etc. Wedding ceremony can also be arranged at the territory of the hotel.

Splendid SPA

Splendid SPA is one of the largest SPA centers in the Eastern Adriatic. It is a part of the hotel Splendid Conference & SPA Resort building, SPA is located in the separate, three-storied wing with possibility of indoor or outdoor access.

The whole SPA center can be divided into two areas:

Wellness Lounge is based on the first floor and includes following facilities: three indoor pools, five types of saunas (classic Finish, mild-temperature, bio sauna with pine, traditional stone sauna and steam bath), experience showers, ice fountain and snow cabin, relaxation zone. On the first floor there are also a gym with Technogym equipment and a fitness room for group trainings.

SPA Lounge is mostly located on the second floor. The access is allowed for guests with appointments. SPA Lounge includes multiple rooms for individual or group treatments, in particular, massage rooms, Rasul apartments, Salve-in-terra, Dry float rooms and many more. Splendid SPA uses the products and equipment of the following brands – Haslauer, Elemis, Christian Breton, Jessica.

Spa & Wellness center in the Hotel Splendid is open to hotel guests as well as to visitors from outside the hotel. There are also special conditions for SPA membership and fitness membership that guarantee limitless access to the respective SPA facilities during certain time period.

Splendid Casino Royale

Splendid Casino Royale was opened in 2010. Located on the 10th floor of Splendid Conference & SPA Resort 5*, Casino Royale offers a variety of slot machines, American roulette, Texas Hold’em poker, Russian poker, Caribbean Stud poker, Blackjack, as well as electronic roulette. The Casino Royale lounge provides table-side dining, complimentary beverage service, a full-service cashier, as well as an overhead, state-of-the-art music system.

Famous guests

In different time the hotel welcomed stars and celebrities from many countries. Among others, Hollywood actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Kevin Spacey, Michael Fassbender, Michelle Rodriguez, Armand Assante, Ralph Fiennes, Sky Nellor, Lordes Faberes, actor Gerard Depardieu, singer Julio Iglesias, sportsmen - hockey player Pavel Bure, skier Jens Weissflog, football players Vincent Candela, Giancarlo Antognoni, Ronald de Boer, Italian racing driver Giancarlo Fisichella, astronaut Oleg Kotov, descendants of the Russia’s Emperor family Aleksej and Irina Romanov, Tamara Mellon, owner of the Jimmy Choo footwear brand.

Legendary The Rolling Stones rock band stayed in the hotel Splendid during their visit in Montenegro in 2007, when they performed a live concert on the Jaz Beach near Budva, as part of their A Bigger Bang tour. A year later, pop singer Madonna stayed at the hotel, as she was performing at the same venue during her Sticky & Sweet Tour.

During the international events hotel Splendid accommodated famous political leaders and officials, including former US President Bill Clinton, Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, as well as presidents and prime ministers of over 30 countries.
