The citation given for darker varieties of hollyhock doing better in sandy soils, lighter in clay is this one: "Observation of dark red and "apple blossom" pale pink side by side in Birmingham and Christchurch, Dorset."

I don't think this is a proper citation, so I'll remove this and put in a citation needed tag. Martijn Faassen (talk) 09:59, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And if nobody provides a proper citation then I suggest we remove the whole section about different colors growing in different soils entirely, as it looks like original research. Martijn Faassen (talk) 10:05, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
