Philodendron

I corrected the word "fot" on the "Philodendron" page, section "Sexual", fourth paragraph. The part you objected to, I agree, was not quite encyclopedia worthy. However, I wanted to call attention, in a humorous way, to the incorrect notions in the sentence that starts, "Females which see a male beetle headed for a philodendron flower know he does so with intention of mating...". How do the beetles "know" the male beetle is flying there "with intention of mating"? And further, how does she know he's flying to a philodendron flower - he could be headed to his mom's place. So, that sentence does need to be corrected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.32.126.81 (talk) 18:25, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing out the typo; I'll pass on restoring the "think 'oh yeah!', because she knows" addition. Please use the edit summary in the future. Pinethicket (talk) 18:44, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hydroxyethyl starch

Thanks for editing HES I´m not experienced in Wikipedia, but appreciate, that I could write new info on an important safety topic nnn — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.66.85.29 (talk) 11:20, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to help out. The key was that you provided the reference. Regards, Pinethicket (talk) 11:57, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I put some more references to improve the article and also Joachim -Boldt, who worked on this drug. For some reason I can´t figure out how to put in a reference number and then the reference at the bottom? The reference always ends up in the article??nnn — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.66.85.29 (talk) 14:40, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 47.66.85.29: The numbers are assigned automatically, but you gotta use the [1] format. I did one of yours as an example. There are actually several equally correct ways to format references.
I think this explains how to to format references, but like most wikipedia instruction, they seem more complicated than they actually are: WP:references. What I try to do is to see how other editors did something and they copycat them. Regards, Pinethicket (talk) 15:03, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Got it Thank you nnn — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.66.85.29 (talk) 16:21, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Susan B Anthony

The source from which that one line about Susan B Anthony being an agnostic is misunderstood. Read the entire chapter. Or read the entire page from which that quote comes. She was "agnostic" in the sense that she did not believe any one branch of the Christian church had a monopoly on the truth about God. She was not agnostic in the sense that the word is more often used today, i.e., as one who does not know what to believe and therefore does not. In the same paragraph, the writer says SBA was a Calvinist as well.

The context is critical here. The original Wikipedia description is the result of poor or dishonest comprehension by someone who appears to want to make a personal point about what SBA believed or did not believe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.140.182.93 (talk) 21:32, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you take the issue to the article's talk page. Also, please use the edit summary in the future. Regards, Pinethicket (talk) 21:39, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just replying

Hi! You left me a message on a revision I did on a page. I definitely don't remember making any changes on anything having to do with the "History of Paper". Weird. Really weird. Not sure what's going on with that, but thanks for the heads up! 99.155.31.219 (talk) 21:10, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This happens all the time, 99.155.31.219. Wikipedia has a terrible time communicating with unregistered editors, and uses a shotgun approach. Please note that some IP addresses are shared by multiple users, and others are changed at the discretion of the internet provider. So an IP address is not like your telephone number; it changes. If you are interested, take a look at IP address assignment. There is a standard statement about ignoring messages on IP edits that you did not make: "If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices." To me that is good advice—just ignore it or register. This will always be a problem as long as Wikipedia allows unregistered people to edit.
