Triotech Amusement, Inc. was founded by Frederic and David Lachance, and Ernest Yale in 1999,[3] and is headquartered in Joliette, Quebec, Canada,[2] with research and development facilities in Montreal.[3]
They are known for their motion simulators such as XD Theatres and Jett Rider.[4] Triotech has an additional office in Joliette, Quebec, Canada.[4]
Background
Triotech Amusement designs, develops, and markets interactive gaming consoles and platforms, as well as small 3 dimensional movie theaters. They distribute their products under Ballistics, XD Theater, Jett Rider, UFO Stomper, and Motion Theater brand names.[4]
In 2006, Triotech Amusement formed Motreal-based Triotech Studios as a 2D and 3D animation studio to create "next generation" arcade games, to work in conjunction with the parent company's line of theme park motion rides.[3]
In April 2007, Triotech signed an agreement for worldwide distribution of its animated film Jett & Jin.[5]
XD Theater
XD Theater is a 3D film attraction made by Triotech Amusement. When first released, XD Theater included the 3D ride films Cosmic Coaster, Haunted Mine and Arctic Run.[citation needed] By 2005, three additional 3D films were added: Ocean Jungle, which incorporated fantasy sea life, Aquaride, which incorporated real sea creatures, and the underground adventure Journey thru the Center of the Earth.[6]
