INTEGRIS Health Edmond

INTEGRIS Health Edmond(IHE) was opened in October of 2011 in Edmond, Oklahoma. IHE offers comprehensive medical and surgical services to Oklahoma, Logan, and Lincoln Counties. A combination of healthcare and hospitality coupled with new technology and experienced healthcare professionals results in the desired level of care for the surrounding communities. INTEGRIS Health Edmond is the only Oklahoma owned, not-for-profit hospital in Edmond[1] and accredited through the Joint Commission.

Culture

"Where Hospitality meets Healthcare" is the driving statement for all operations at IHE. The culture set forth for all INTEGRIS hospitals are based around three subcategories:

  • Mission Statement - "To improve the health of the people and communities we serve"[2]
  • Vision Statement - "Most Trusted Name in Health Care"[3]
  • Value Statement - "Love, Learn, and Lead"[4]

Location

IHE is located on 45 acres in northeast Oklahoma county's forested land, between 2nd and 15th street on the east side of I-35 in the ever growing community of Edmond, Oklahoma[[1]]. The city of Edmond has shown significant growth over the last 20 years[5]. The newest growth projections show that Edmond is moving east towards the smaller communities of Jones, Arcadia, Luther, and Wellston, and north towards Guthrie. Design of this hospital was to grow with the surrounding needs of healthcare in the area. Located on one of the major US highways, the hospital has entances on the frontage road and on 15th street just east of I-35.

Development

INTEGRIS Health Edmond is a part of the INTEGRIS Health System which is the states largest Not-For-Profit healthcare system and hospital network in the state of Oklahoma[6]. IHE joins the family of other facilities in the INTEGRIS system such as INTEGRIS Candian Valley Medical Center, INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center, INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center, INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center, INTEGRIS Cancer Institute of Oklahoma, INTEGRIS Grove Hospital, INTEGRIS Mental Health Spencer, and Lakeside Women's Hospital. IHE was specifically designed so it can grow in size with the local community[1]. Development phase I of III was completed in October of 2011; phase II is currently underway and the groundbreaking for a new Medical Offic Building will begin January of 2014.

Medical Services

INTEGRIS Health Edmond's campus consists of a full service hospital with 40 inpatient beds and a medical office building offering clinical services.

INTEGRIS Health Edmond

A comprehnsive care hospital utilizing electronic medical records and health technology. A gift shop, cafe, chapel, pastoral care, wi-fi, an ATM, and hearing inpaired/interpreter services are avaialable[7].

Emergency Services

A Level III emeregency department; 17 beds including 2 trauma bays and 1 decontamiation bay. IHE works alongside EMSA and other paramedic service companies to better serve the surrounding communiities.

Endoscopy Services

Performing procedures such as colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, gastroenterology, diagnostic testing, and pain management.

Surgical Services

Four surgical suites that specialize in orthopedic surgery, endoscopy procedures, urology procedures, OBGYN procedures, and general surgery. There is also a 12 bed outpatient surgery unit, and an post-anesthesia care unit available.

Labor and Delivery Services

10 private rooms, an electronic infant security system, C-section capabilities, and board certified OB/GYNs, Neonatologist, and Pediatricians are available.

Radiology Services

MRI,CT, cardiac stress test, ultrasound, nuclear testing, digital mammography, and bone density procedures are all available in the hospital. A new cardiac cath and angiography lab was opened in July of 2013 bringing the specialties of interventional radiology and interventional cardiology into northern Oklahoma county[8][9]. The addition of this new lab qualified IHE to become a Level I Cardiac center by EMSA, authorizing the treatment of heart related emergencies.

Inpatient Services

24 bed unit with capablities of providing treatment for a range of ages, acuity and diagnosis. Cardiologist, Pulmonologist, and Nephrologist are all on call for the facility and can be reached at anytime to assist in the care of patients.

Intensive Care Unit

6 bed unit designed to care for the critically ill patients. Intensive Care Units focus on treating the major systems of body[10], such as the cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, central nervous system, and the respiratory tract.

INTEGRIS Edmond Medical Office Building

Houses clinics for the physicians and the hospital, as well as a pharmacy and rehabilitation services.

ProHealth Pharmacy

INTEGRIS' on-site pharmacy; services include bedside patient consultation, both perscription and over-the-counter medications, and a source for information for both patrons and staff[11].

INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Outpatient Rehabilitation

Features creative and reliable blends of rehabilitation from one of Oklahoma's most trusted sources for physical therapy.[12]. Services available include rehabillitaion for stroke, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, pain management, orthopedic injuries, and neuromuscular disease[13].

Diagnostic Labratory of Oklahoma

An Oklahoma based medical laboratory company that conducts testing for the hospital in areas such as microbiology, virology, pathology, cytology, phlebotomy, and STAT and routine testing[14].

Orthopedic Edmond

The clinical setting for the available orthopedic physicians. Services include diagnosis and treatment of arthritis, bone fracture, sprains and strains, joint displacement and surgery.[15]

Edmond Cardiology

The clinical setting for the available cardiologist. Designed to give access for treatment of cadriovascular disease to the communities of northern Oklahoma county. Working in association with the INTEGRIS Heart Hospital, services include diagnosis and treatment for cardiovascular disease, including heart failure, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation, diagnostic testing, disease managment, valve repair and replacement and cardiac catheterization[16].

Family Care East Edmond Clinic

Located on the second floor, this clinic offers services such as acute care, behavioral health, chronic care, diabetic services, pediatrics, preventive medicine, women's health, and sleep disorders services[17].
