Mattapan or Mattapan Sq. is the southern terminus of the Ashmont-Mattapan High Speed Line in Boston, Massachusetts. It is in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston. The station is a major transfer facility, served by several bus lines. The trolleys use a balloon loop to reverse direction back to Ashmont.

The MBTA is currently reconstructing stations on the Mattapan High Speed Line. During reconstruction, trolley service was replaced by shuttle buses. Trolley service resumed on December 22, 2007.[1][2] The Mattapan Station renovation includes new station platforms and shelters and a new building for MBTA operations with a community room. In addition a mixed-use transit oriented development (TOD) is being built on the former parking lot adjacent to the station.[3][4]

Accessibility

This station is accessible using mini high platforms.
