Requests for registration

Please read the guide on the main page before requesting permission. In applying for AWB access, you indicate that you will abide by its terms.

Also, this page is for requesting AWB Access for this wiki (English Wikipedia) only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.

Please add your name to the bottom of the appropriate list (user or bot) on this page below using *{{AWBUser|your username}} ~~~~~. Enter your user name exactly as the software displays it, for example in the 'Basic information' section of your preferences. Do not use underscores instead of spaces or change the case of the first letter. Note that all usernames begin with an uppercase letter or a symbol.

If the list contains undecided entries that are over 48 hours old, please change {{noadminbacklog}} to {{adminbacklog}} at the top of this page.

Note that users with under 500 mainspace non-automated edits are rarely approved. You can check your contributions in each namespace at Toolserver. You only need to give a reason for wanting AWB access if you have fewer than 500 mainspace non-automated edits. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to list themselves.

If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for the purpose.

  • I am sorry. I thought it would be more than 500. I would like to use AWB to fix wiki pages which have syntex errors, other incomplete/ incorrect contents. Should I place a request again once I cross 500 mark? Rabsnieder (talk) 10:05, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't think that we have to wait for that, but most of your edits are updating sports statistics in tables. How would AWB help with that, sicnce that is the strong point of your editing? Posting here without reaching the 500 mark shows that instructions were not followed. But I am more interested in that you will use AWB constructively and thus prove that you can do the job yourself before putting AWB on the job to multiply the success. Can you point to some diffs of you fixing syntax? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:47, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have made more than 500 mainspace edits. The edit counter is not working right now for some reason. I think my count is around 700 for mainspace edits. I want to use AWB for fixing typos. It would help me doing the work efficiently.Muhammad Ali Khalid (talk)

  • My article was tagged at short time after creation, and it was not fully developed at that moment, consequently i removed tag and then developed. If reviewer consider further that article must be deleted, he can nominate article for deletion with discussion.
  • But, i must mention, i don′t need AWB rights for (mass) editing. Enwiki is not my home wiki. I only need to login and generate lists of pages (that contains link or transclude template) via AWB, to add a feature (new category or template) to correspondent page from rowiki (my home wiki). Maybe, sometimes, i will edit and here too, specially re-categorise pages from Moldova′s topics, because here are a lot of pages and catgories with wrong diacritics used: ”ș” and ”ț” with cedila instead of comma.
  • Also i must mention, i already have 2 approved bot accounts on rowiki (1, 2), and i have 19000 edits and over 1000 articles created on ro.wiki, also i am template editor on my local wiki, so don′t worry, everything will be ok. I am experienced user. XXN (talk) 22:16, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
