What is your objection to treating A-League for the New Zealand teams the same way we treat MLS, NASL, and USL for Canadian teams at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues? Nfitz (talk) 22:50, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
- I have started a new discussion here New Zealand as you failed to do so... JMHamo (talk) 11:53, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- Okay ... I didn't see the point, as it was a such a minor clean-up edit, that I couldn't for a second imagine would create any controversy. Nfitz (talk) 01:14, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
Football athlete pages
Hi there! I have a question and was wondering if you can help me with it. I often do new page patrol, and frequently come across short pages made about professional football players or other athletes. At this point I just skip by them as am not familiar with what soccer clubs would produce notable enough players for inclusion. If I were to, say, research a page when it pops up to determine notability, where would you suggest I go to find that a) the team is notable enough for its players to have their own pages or b) what achievements the player is required to have in order to have their own page? Feel free to direct me to a policy page if you feel that's the best way of determining notability. Jeremy112233 (talk) 20:56, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- For football (soccer), the best thing to do is post on the WikiProject Football Talk page and you'll get the help you need :) JMHamo (talk)

Hello. Now I've had a proper look, it's as near as dammit identical to the pre-existing Mahmout Najdi with a "t". The spelling with a "t" is used in the Kicker reference in the article, and in Soccerway, but the article on de.wiki spells him with a "d". As the stats sources prefer the "t" spelling, I'll redirect him to Mahmout Najdi, if anyone knows better, they can sort it out. Whatever the correct transliteration, he's real enough and notable enough. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 14:28, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
LOI players
Is there any chance you could stop deleting pages? There is no justification for this vandalism. You need to change the rules. Wiki is losing people who go to the trouble of making pages only to have deleted by pettiness. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.167.254.165 (talk) 21:16, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
- Have a read of Notability of players competing in the League Of Ireland on WikiProject Football for some background on League of Ireland players. I hope this helps you understand the situation a bit better. JMHamo (talk) 21:22, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

With your permission, I have taken off the Speedy Delete tag. Notability has been asserted through two major translation prize wins. I have created almost 900 new articles on Wiki [1] so I do know the difference between what is notable and what is not. Thanks. --Peripatetic (talk) 14:24, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
- You can't remove a speedy deletion tag from a page you created yourself. JMHamo (talk) 14:31, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
- Then perhaps you'd like to remove it, seeing that notability has been established? It's kind of disfiguring the page :-) -- Peripatetic (talk) 17:22, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Please find my answer and my talk page about the article you tagged for deletion about Gang Recording Studio. Thank you for your time
