International recognition is irrelevant to the crisis, as Crimea has already signed a treaty with Russia on accession, and has never stated a desire for nation-state independence. In fact, the Crimean Prime Minister Sergei Aksyonov has specifically rejected the "the Abkhazian version" of independence supported by Russia [1] The appropriate article about the issues surrounding the Republic of Crimea's territorial status belongs at: Accession of Crimea to the Russian Federation or Republic of Crimea. This article, on the other hand, only adds to the cluttering of articles dealing with the current crisis in Ukraine and Crimea. --Tocino 06:34, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
- Keep It was a (de-facto) country, if only for a very short period. International recognition may be irrelevant now, but we don't delete articles about historic issues simply because they have become irrelevant; once notable always notable. That said this should probably be merged into Republic of Crimea (country). Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 09:38, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
- Delete/ Merge into the "Republic of Crimea (country)". There isn't any content on this article which isn't already covered in the article "Republic of Crimea (country)". Yesturday I already proposed that this article be merged into "Republic of Crimea (country)" and it seems to have enough support to merge the articles. IJA (talk) 09:56, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
- Keep – Far too early to discus deletion or merge. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 13:25, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
- Keep. No reason to deletion. Three interwiki. NickSt (talk) 14:36, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
- Keep It was an independent republic now part of Russia that is recognised by both Russian and Kazakhstan. 72.79.135.33 (talk) 15:15, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
