CHANNEL 24 is a Bangladesh-language based general informative television channel in Bangladesh. It was launched on May 24th, 2012, and is owned by Times Media Ltd. Although Channel 24 is an informative based channel, it has gained a lot of popularity from news, fiction, and non-fiction programs like News 24, Sports 24, Business 24, Desh 24, Chittagong 24, Life Style 24, Entertainment 24, Drama, and Honeymoon. Channel 24 has already achieved a positive response from the viewers.
Sports 24
To go on air, the channel is going to show two LIVE interacting sports bulletin called 'Sports 24' four times at day which will be aired LIVE on Channel 24 09:00 am–09:30 am,12:45 pm–1:00 pm, 02:00 pm–02:40 pm, 07:45 pm–08:15 pm and 10:40 pm–11:00 pm. A majority of the World News, Most Burning, Investigative, Special or Focused story, and daily sports update local and international will be discussed in the show. The main focus of the night bulletin will be the local and international sports events. Daily events, special reports, analysis and investigative reports will be the main attractions. Previews of late night matches and also the games of the next day will be presented in a different style. For example matches of Champions League, Spanish League, English Premier League, Tennis are mostly played at night schedules according to Bangladeshi time. Match preview, point table(graphics), key factors(graphics) and other analysis will be displayed and discussed graphically and simply to let the viewers understand easily and to let them enjoy the program. To make the bulletin more interesting and special, it will be a duel and interactive presentation. Before and after displaying a story there will be an informative and interesting discussion with the presenters. Focus on a particular issue and different angles of the issue will be brought to light every week, at least on two days. To make the program more popular throughout the whole country, everyday there will be a dedicated chunk for the seven divisions of our country. For example, Saturday will be dedicated for Chittagong, Sunday for Khulna, Monday for Rah and so on. There will also be an "Event of the day" and "Moment of the day" in the night bulletin. To give an emotional touch to the bulletin a segment called "Off track" which will focus on lucid and soft stories will be added to the bulletin. In Thursday night bulletin, burning issues, problems and corruption of sports will be discussed before the viewers. On Friday, story of a struggling current or former sports man will be displayed. The every night bulletin will come to an end with a saucy, light or bizarre story.
Beyond the Gallery
The daily sports program for channel 24 will be called Beyond the Gallery and will be telecast every day at 1:00 pm except Friday. The main focus of the program will be the local and international sports events with special focus on cricket and football, daily events, special reports, analysis and investigative reports as the main attractions. Previews of late night matches and also the games of the next day will be presented in a different style. For example matches of Champions league, Spanish league, English premier league, Tennis are mostly played at night schedule according to Bangladeshi time. Match preview, point table(graphics), key factors(graphics) and other analysis will be displayed and discussed graphically and simply to let the viewer’s understand easily and to let them enjoy the program. In every episode there will be SMS contest, and viewers will get attractive gifts. Celebrity, opinion expert and rewound journalist will be present in every program. To make the program more interesting and special, there will be different and interactive presentations.
Several Tragedies
We were the number one in news that week to report the collapse of several buildings. Channel 24 came to the attention of many areas for the Savar tragedy. It aired videos from core and risky areas. From the first day of the tragedy we were engaged in uncut live telecasts.
Clemon Indoor Uni Cricket 2013
Channel 24 aired LIVE streaming of Clemon Indoor Uni Cricket 2013 and gained huge response for their professional dedication. This is the first time in Bangladeshi Channel telecast Live game. Three erstwhile cricketers took a unique initiative for university students of the country by arranging an eight-a-side indoor cricket tournament, the first of its kind in Bangladesh. The week-long cricket carnival named Clemon Indoor Uni Cricket will start with thirty-two universities at Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur from 22 February.
First Anniversary
The first anniversary of Channel 24 was observed on 24 May 2013 with a commitment to keeping the viewers updated with all sorts of news round-the-clock.
A day-long program was organized at Chittagong center of Channel 24 at Agrabad Sheikh Mujib Road on the occasion.
The program began with cutting of a cake at 10:00 am and continued till 8:00 pm.
Chittagong city Mayor M Manjur Alam, former mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, former state minister Jafrul Islam Chowdhury, leaders of different political, business, professional and socio-cultural organizations attended the program.
