Cedric Foo Chee Keng (Chinese: 符致镜; pinyin: Fú Zhìjìng; born 16 July 1960) is a Singaporean politician and businessperson. A member of the Singapore-based political party People's Action Party (PAP), Foo currently serves as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Pioneer Single Member Constituency (SMC). He is also the Group Deputy President and Chief Financial Officer of Neptune Orient Lines.

Early life and education

Cedric Foo was born on 16 July 1960 in Singapore. He was educated at Kim Seng East Primary School and Tanglin Technical School, and graduated from Singapore Polytechnic in 1980.

He subsequently studied for a Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University of Michigan from 1983-84, graduating summa cum laude. In 1985, he was awarded a Master's degree in Ocean Systems Management by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Career

From 2000 to 2002, Foo enjoyed a stint as Senior Vice-President of Singapore Airlines. From 2003 to 2006, he worked as Chairman of SPRING Singapore.[1] Since May 2005, Foo has been Group Deputy President of shipping firm Neptune Orient Lines Limited, where had previously worked at from 1985 to 2000.[2] In addition, he also been Chairman of JTC Corporation since 2008.[3]

From 2002 to 2005, Foo was the Minister of State. In between, he also held office at both the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of National Development. From 2001 to 2011, Foo maintained his position as Member of Parliament of the West Coast Group Representation Constituency. In May 2011, he switched to becoming MP for the Pioneer SMC.[1]

Personal life

Foo is married with four children. He resides in Singapore.[1]
