Wattipally is a remote village in Telkapalle mandal, Nagar Kurnool Revenue division of Mahbubnagar district, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is a remote village surrounding other villages Alair, Marrikal, Ambatpally and Karpamula. It is equally distanced (about 30 km) from major towns Nagarkurnool, Achampet and Kollapur. Wattipally is located in between 16.19 degrees northern longitude and 78.25 eastern latitude, this village is situated approximately 458 metres (1,503 ft) above sea level. Wattipally falls under semi-arid tropical regions.

Wattipally is a major gram panchayat including Wattipally tanda (2 km from the Wattipally village) and Wattipally itself. Elections are held every 5 years to elect the Sarpanch.

The present Member of Legislative assembly of Nagarkurnool is Dr. Janardhan Reddy Nagam, and Member of parliament is Dr M.Jagannadham.

How to go Wattipally

  • Wattipally is about 151 kilometres (94 mi) from Hyderabad, so this is easily accessible by road, there are two main road ways to reach, one is through Srisailam highway via Kalwakurthy, Medipur road and Telkapally (120 km), another is through NH-7 until Jadcherla (79 km), then via Nagarkurnool and Telkapally(150 km)
  • Wattipally is about 100 kilometres (62 mi) from the new Shamshabad International airport.[1]

  • Sarpanch: Elected by people every 5 years, one who looks after amenities such as water, drainage, roads and buildings, schools and any other disputes.
  • VAO  : is a government servant responsible for record keeping(Birth and deaths, Land survey, registration etc.) for the entire village.
  • MEO & MEO: MEO (Mandal Education Officer) and MDO (Mandal Development Officer) stays in Telkapally mandal and they are responsible for all education and development programs within that Mandal. Sanpanch/Teachers works with MDO/MEO.
