Armeena Rana Khan (born March 30, 1987) is Canadian film actress and model.

Khan is based in London and Dubai from where she shuttles between projects in Europe and South Asia. Her distinctive looks transcend East and West allowing Khan to work in Dubai, Europe, India, North America and Pakistan. She has featured in lists of the top 10 most beautiful female models [1] in the UK and top 50 most sexiest south Asian women in the world[2] alongside other popular celebrities.

Early life

Khan was brought up in Canada but her family originate from Pakistan. She is of mixed heritage. Her father's side are Rajput from Punjab Pakistan. Her mother’s side are of Iranian and Pashtun descent. Khan’s initial interest in the media came while studying drama at high school in Ontario. In her final year she was offered a modelling contract in Toronto but chose to focus on her education by finishing high school and moving to the UK to study for a degree. After graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University she turned away from a business career in favour of the Media.

Education

Khan attended high School and college in Canada. She holds an honours degree in Business from the UK, as well as a diploma in Science.

Upcoming Projects

Imminent projects due for release in early 2015 include:

  • 'Ishq Parast'. Following on from her success with 'Mohabbat Ab Nahi Hogi', Khan will return with 'Ishq Parast', where she plays the lead in a psychological thriller.
  • Bin Roye Ansoo[3]. This is a production by Hum TV based on the best selling novel of the same name by Farhat Ishtiaq. In it Khan will play the role of Saman alongside Pakistani film stars Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed. This film will also be released as a drama lair in 2015.

Film and Television

2013 saw the broadcasting of Khan's first serious acting performances. Previous to this she undertook mainly commercial modelling work and experimental short films. In May 2013 Khan's film Writhe was selected for the 2013 Cannes film festival. It is a British film directed by Shiraz Ali and shows Khan playing the role of a depraved female serial killer.

Modelling

Her early work involved a wide range of modelling assignments ranging from from music videos to magazine cover shoots. She featured in the Faysal Bank print and television advertisement campaign of 2010, which introduced her to South Asian television screens. This was followed in 2011 by her successful campaign for Nisha linen by Nishat Group, which was repeated in a larger campaign in 2012. In 2014 Khan collaborated with Gohar Textile Mills PVT to launch her own clothing line.[5]
