Jamvhille Fernando Sebastian (20 March 1986 – 4 March 2015), better known as Jam Sebastian, was a Filipino celebrity and one half of real-life couple JaMich, who gained popularity in the Philippines on YouTube. Mich was Sebastian's partner, Paolinne Michelle Liggayu.[1][2]

Biography

Jam Sebastian was born in 1986 at the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center to Vilmo Sebastian and Maria Carmen "Maricar" Fernando. His brother Yexel is a toy collector who owns three toy museums in the Philippines.[3]

JaMich

Before JaMich, Sebastian had confessed his relationship with Paolinne Michelle Liggayu as puppy love.[4] Sebastian had also confirmed during an interview with StarStudio Magazine that JaMich was already a couple since 2008.[5]

JaMich became one of YouTube's popular love teams in 2011. By Chance was their first uploaded video which gained more than seven million views with 543,163 accumulated subscribers.[6] The duo joined Twitter in June 2011 and has since acquired over a million followers.[7] After six years, the official engagement of JaMich was announced. It was Liggayu who proposed to Sebastian at the Philippine International Convention Center on May 11, 2014.[8]

Illness and death

In the first quarter of 2014, after a CT scan at St. Luke's Medical Center, Sebastian was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.[9] Integrative medicine was his treatment of choice for his healing process.[10] In February 2015, Sebastian had been placed under life support.[11]He died at 10:30 am.

Sebastian succumbed to lung cancer and he died at 10:30 a.m. on March 4, 2015, aged 28, 16 days before he would have turned 29.[12][13]
