References and sources exist in dozens of articles in the archives of the New York Times and the Boston Globe. Time permitting, some of these will in due course be cited in the article. The New York Times obituary states Judge Quinn graduated from Ottowa University in 1883, making the author assume in a previous iteration of the article that he graduated from law school three years later. However, the 1918 Martindale directory lists his admission to the Bar as occurring in 1884, which is actually not that remarkable a fact as graduation from law school was not a requirement for admission to the Bar in this period, or even the norm among attorneys, until well into the 20th Century.
