Who's Alan?

Hello, my name is Alan and indeed I am from Miami, FL.

My background is in graphic design, film & video production, and some web design... but mostly I consider myself an artist although I stopped painting years ago, not that I was any good but I still loved doing it.

I definitely love playing Soccer although my knees have been weak lately from all the years of running Cross-Country

Love my family and strongly believe that selflessness and love would bring solutions to all of humanity's problems, sounds lame I know.

Languages

Native English and Spanish; Originally from Colombia, although also familiar with many other countries' slang terms and idioms. Also a big fan of Italian and Portuguese, but not enough to contribute yet.

Disclosures

  • I work as the Social Media & Web Coordinator for ASA College (Miami Campus).
    • These are some of the things I'm currently working on:
    • Keeping our Social Media profiles updated such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Others.
    • One of my favorite things to do is work on Graphic Design Projects, I've been able to design many fun things as simple as postcards but also as big as Bus Wraps.
    • I'm also coordinating the design for our Miami Campus Website, we hope to have it ready by the first week of May 2015.
    • As inspired from Wikipedian in Residence I am taking some qualities in that role to help my organization better understand Wikipedia and the best practices as to how to facilitate the improvement of content by the Wikipedia Community from a Neutral point of view. Also by minimizing the impact of any Conflict of Interest when improving articles or working with the Wikipedia community in order to do so.
  • I definitely still consider myself a newbie. Have been wanted to contribute for years, but finally created my account November 11th, 2014
  • Have always loved and respected what Wikipedia stands for. Glad to be part of this team and contribute according the spirit of what Wikipedia represents.
