Re: Champions League article reverts

No worries, I was just reverted myself recently for adding that award to the last Champions League article, so I was familiar with the situation. Cheers. – PeeJay 17:19, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Colegio San Bartolomé

Hi, Kethrus.

Why you reverted my edits? Do you know Spanish orthography? (referring to Colegio San Bartolomé la Merced) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rodriguma (talkcontribs) 18:36, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Rodriguma: It would help if you linked me to the revision which I reverted so I could give you a reason. --I am Kethrus Talk to me! 18:38, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but, do you revert and you don't know what you reverted and if you are right? And you didn't answer my question. Do you know Spanish orthography? -Rodriguma (talk) 18:47, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Rodriguma: That isn't relevant. As it says on my user page I'm not afraid to be wrong. I was going by the page title - as many other Wikipedians would have. Primefac is moving the page shortly to show the correct name. --I am Kethrus Talk to me! 18:50, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)Rodriguma, please be CIVIL when dealing with other users. Personal attacks are never a good way to proceed. While in this case you were correct that the "La" should have been capitalized, in the future please take any disputed edits to the talk page of the article in question. This way a discussion can be started and a solution found without resorting to name-calling and questioning other's intelligence. If you want more help, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 18:53, 12 September 2015 (UTC) (talk page stalker)[reply]
Hi.
Kethrus: You confirmed why there are so many mistakes on the Wikipedia, facts and writing: orthography isn’t relevant!, at least for you. Or is it because is a Spanish word about a Third World school? Would you say that it’s irrelevant if somebody writes Harbard or Ocsford?
Somebody finds a mistake or adds something and then arrives another one who reverts to the error or erases the new part. Many times, I and others I talked with, readers did not correct errors because it becomes a time consuming “battle”.
Primefac: I only applied scientific method that Kethrus didn’t do. If somebody changes something I wrote, first I would check if the other one’s modification is correct. If it’s wrong, I would explain why it’s not correct instead to commit the mistake again. And in any case I would not revert to the error a second time.
“please be CIVIL when dealing with other users. Personal attacks are never a good way to proceed”. Is it uncivil to ask why somebody committed an error? I think really uncivil is to revert an edition and not even say hello. You should apply that you say. Personal attack is to say I am not civil because I ask why somebody writes a mistake.
About orthography, I presume you agree it’s irrelevant because you didn’t say a word to Kethrus but did a personal attack to me.
If I employed US manners (I don’t presume or assume you are from that country) where a gallant word is considered harassment, I would say you are discriminatory, harassing, racist, etc. But it only makes me smile… and waste time.
“take any disputed edits to the talk page of the article in question”. Please apply that you say, again. Look at that page. Many times I could see people did not answer those questions, maybe because they did not return to the page, maybe because they didn’t subscribe to it. It’s why I did that I did.
“questioning other's intelligence”. I didn’t do that. I only questioned the knowledge on the subject: Spanish orthography and the school.
“If you want more help, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance”. Thank you for those directions that may be useful for someone.
A question still is unsolved: Why Kethrus reverted a correct edition?
Finally, please excuse the mistakes I surely committed. I will accept and thank all corrections because I know my English is not good.
Greetings — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rodriguma (talkcontribs)
@Rodriguma: Myself and Primefac discussed this in #wikipedia-en-help connect and made the decision to change the page name by moving it, as you have seen. I hope this is the end of the matter and you only contact me again if you wish to talk about something else, as you will not be responded to. I was going by the page title which I presumed to be correct, as would a lot of people. --I am Kethrus Talk to me! 22:12, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
