Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is the name of a new enterprise focused organization created from the split of Hewlett-Packard Company into two new publically listed, Fortune 50 companies: "Hewlett Packard Enterprise" and "HP Inc.".

HPE comprises Enterprise Group (servers, storage, networking, consulting and support), Enterprise Services, Software and Financial Services.

The split was completed on November 1, 2015, at which point HP's personal computer and printing business became known as HP Inc.

Naming

The full name for the company is Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co., dropping the hyphen that previously existed between the "Hewlett" and "Packard" of the former Hewlett-Packard Company. During and since the separation many media outlets have incorrectly named the new organization, notably using "HP Enterprises"[1] or "HP Enterprise"[2][3] as abbreviations. The correct abbreviation of Hewlett Packard Enterprise is HPE.
