Re-Submitting Version One Ventures with more citations

Hi SwisterTwister. Thanks for taking a look at my wikipage. I looked at the comments and doubled the amount of sources I have for this page. I think this makes it a more "notable" company that the general public can read about. I hope you understand that it's hard to find a wide variety of sources when a company is only a few years old and happens to be popular among those in the industry. This is the first of what I hope to be many startup-related posts, so hopefully I'll get the swing of this soon!

Thanks again,

For the great and consistent work you do in patrolling newly developed pages on Wikipedia, I award you this barnstar. Your efforts have ensured that the editors who create redirects get notified when those redirects get expanded or discussed. Neelix (talk) 02:00, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re-Submitting Peter Lipman with a few more sources

SwisterTwister - Thanks for your review and for pushing for more sources. I added a few more including two computer science text books. Peter Lipman's biggest contribution to computing was at Digital Equipment Corporation - his operating system kernal and memory management work was fundamental and important to today's computing systems, which is why threads like this exist on USENET with people asking who he was. https://groups.google.com/d/msg/comp.os.vms/c9_quls-Nc8/2VpapWb9hEcJ - I've done my best to answer that question, for example, I spoke with David Cutler - a man who is still alive in this world - and worked closely with Peter at DEC - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Cutler - Peter is metioned in Culter's wiki. . Peter Lipman was not, however, the spotlight seeking type. There are no Steve Jobs style documentaries focused on him.. However, like the Walter Isaacson Book, "the innovators" attests to, Steve Jobs successes with Apple were built on the notable innovations of people like Peter Lipman. I should openly admit, the previous copyright violation was a mistake on my part. I added that text inappropriately. It was a copy and paste that I absolutely should not have done. Just a novice mistake from a new wiki contributor. Perhaps the added sources are enough for you to approve.

Thanks for all that you do! Cheers, etlipman Etlipman (talk) 08:12, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article Submission: Churchill Retirement Living

Apologies for the delay in responding. I was watching your Talk Page and didn't see that you had responded on the draft article page. I've included your comment for the sake of clarity -

"I simply wonder if there are any more good sources talking about them overall than the listed thirty (30). Cheers, SwisterTwister talk 07:47, 4 November 2015 (UTC)}}"[reply]

I think I understand. Do you mean reliable sources? I've gone back and done some more research and added in several additional sources. These include The Times and City A.M., as well as some regional and local newspapers. There are now 18 sources listed, which include national newspapers (Express, Telegraph, The Times, This Is Money/Daily Mail), Local/regional newspapers (Bournemouth Echo, Bucks Free Press, City A.M., Oxford Times, Salisbury Journal, Wetherby News), Local government (Adur & Worthing Council, Winchester Council), and Industry publications (Best Companies, Construction News, Estate Agent Today, Gazette Series, Housebuilder & Developer, and Seniors Housing). I have omitted additional sources like other local and regional publications because I feel that would just be duplicating the ones already listed, but they are available, if needs be. Perhaps you can give your thoughts when possible. Thank you Fbell74 (talk) 03:21, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks, and a tiny inquiry

Hello, sir.

First of all I'd like to thank you for patrolling my page Huzama Habayeb; I highly appreciate it.

I have an inquiry, too; and I hope you'll be able to help me out. After I had created the page in English, I joined the Arabic part of Wikipedia to create an Arabic counterpart of the English page. I saw a translation tool that would allow me to directly create the page, add the references, media, and every other component in the page automatically; and I simply needed to just translate the text. I started doing that, but I when I was finished and published the article, I found out that every time I needed to edit something it would have to be reviewed by someone to be published although the page is mine. I didn't face this problem while I was creating the English page. And now, there are numerous edits and tonnes of additions that I've already made in the Arabic page but they need to be reviewed. Unfortunately, however, the guys at the Arabic version of Wikipedia are not that active.

What I want to kindly ask you is: first, would it be possible for you to approve my edits or does it have to be someone from the Arabic Wikipedia staff? and second, why is this happening in the first place? It's me who created the page; I should be able to edit however I like and the changes should be instantaneous—and that was the case while I was creating the English page—and then eventually, some editor would go through the whole thing and patrol the page, right?

Thanks in advance, sir.

Abdallah a.k.a Angevilish (talk) 07:06, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not an active member of Arabic Wiki nor am I an Arabic speaker so it would have to be one of the users there, yes. Cheers, SwisterTwister talk 07:08, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

07:32:28, 9 November 2015 review of submission by Venkateshburli

I would firstly like to thank you for reviewing my submission. If you would please elaborate on the "article being more like a report" part, it would greatly help in editing my submission.

Also, since it is my first time article writing experience kindly suggest me the changes which will help in my submission being accepted.

Venkateshburli (talk) 07:32, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly Venkateshburli, the article looks more like something you would see in an academic journal rather than a formal encyclopedia article (honest, simply look at any other related subject). Feel welcome to continue to learn how editing works and please ask if you need any further help. SwisterTwister talk 07:36, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Can an analysis of a topic be on Wikipedia? If not, kindly help me in making this submission more like an article.

Thanks.

It seems like an interesting subject but it may need a better lead with better information for viewers unfamiliar with the subject. Consider seeing WP:Writing better articles and WP:Your first article. SwisterTwister talk 07:49, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Gauss Lectures, resubmitting

Thank you for your comments on the Draft:Gauss Lectureship. As discussed, I added third-party sources for the last lectures (all lectures from 2015), using a mainstream newspaper, a more specialized (but general-public) news portal and the news services of two universities. At this point this draft has more references than the original (German) page https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gau%C3%9F-Vorlesung and also than the Portuguese version. Initially I planned only to translate! Thanks for your reviewing work. 178.197.235.140 (talk) 12:24, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi SwisterTwister - Can you provide examples of what you consider good coverage, or what you want to know about this company in order for the draft to be accepted? Thanks for the advice.

St Michael's Rowing Club

I see you declined Draft:St Michael's Rowing Club a few days ago. I could only see on reliable third party source that seemed to indicate any true notability. In fact I think it fails WP:CLUB as many of the source only mention it in passing or are about individuals associated with it. Just my 2c worth. ww2censor (talk) 10:57, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I had a thought

Like you, I see clear reasons for AFC acceptance or pushing material back, or even deleting it. Like you I am decisive. I'm not sure that makes me any good, of course, but that's for others to judge

The thought is that I believe you can be even more useful for the editors whose work you review, and without huge effort, perhaps with less effort.

Over the time I've been reviewing I have found I get the fewest questions about my reviews when I give detailed comments. The comments I use change for time to time. I use them as a selection of comments that I modify to suit the occasion and combine in many and mysterious ways. If they are any help to you please feel free to dip in. User:Timtrent/Reviewing contains the list. Fiddle Faddle 12:33, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to understand how I can provide more pieces of third party coverage in order to meet the Companies guidelines. Will the following pieces of coverage suffice?

The oil and gas exploration industry has many different players and in order to understand the full picture it is important to be aware of the small players too--especially now while oil prices are low many small companies that are well leveraged are able to buy development acreage/wells that were disproportionately priced previously. That makes many small companies key players in the oil and gas industry, as well as key players in America's economy since they are providing investment opportunities and providing extra tax income to states. Also, in comparison to some other Wikipedia oil and gas company pages such as Vaalco Energy, the Gulf Coast Western page has many more credible references as well as links to other educational Wiki pages--proving it's activities and importance.
