Deleting user talk pages

User talk pages should not be deleted or nominated for deletion for just minor vandalism: see WP:UP#DELTALK. If you see this, the best thing to do is to revert it and warn the user that put it there. BoxOfChickens (talk · contribs · CSD/ProD log) 18:48, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @BoxOfChickens:, I see, I falsely believed it was a non-existent User (User:Saif ullah saify bhatti) but apparently it was created at 17:51), so I thought it might as well be reported fo CSD/deletion. PS Sorry for rolling back "your" barnstar :-), IP likely copied it from my Talkpage, as it was "signed" by Boomer Vial, but the actual edit was made by IP [3] who is currently blocked actually [4]. Straight level 4 warning?

The vandal that was vandalizing "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" really didn't deserve a straight level 4 warning in my opinion. What do you think? Joel.Miles925 (talk) 15:00, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think he is blocked now indef for both vandalism and an offensive username [5], [6]. FYI As you can see on that page, he/she got a level 1 first from Cluebot, then a level 4 which is perfectly fine for obvious vandalism (there is no need for all 4 levels of warnings in the case of, again, obvious vandalism). .Don't think any action is required. There is already an admin involved and it isn't too strenuous of a game of Whack-a-Mole. RBI applies. IP vandalism

Hey I noticed your reverts of vandalism on France in the American Revolutionary War. I wanted to thank you for that, and as well as to let you know that the IP that reported to the WP:AIV was not the same IP that was vandalizing the article which you reverted. ~~Boomer Vial (talk) 16:13, 20 January 2016 (UTC)~~ [reply]

@Boomer Vial: Hi and thanks! No, indeed, the IP vandal you thanked me for was not reported by me to AIV, because it was already blocked before I could do so. I reported just before that, however, a very similar IP which vandalised a similar theme article (French Revolutionary Wars) 66.87.149.227 who did vandalise beyond user warning 4. The IP that got blocked too - 66.87.149.9 ‎- was likely the same person given the likeness of both IPs (turn on/off modem or similar) and the similar-ish article themes. Some admin will have followed it and blocked the "unreported" one too, decided it is the same person, in which case the "old" warnings still apply, and blocked him/her. @Boomer Vial: To strike out some text can be done as I did ~~here~~ lol. Put the word(s) you want to strike through between del tags: <del> word word word word </del>. Manually that is, I guess under "Preferences" there might be some addition to the editor functions, but I do not see a button to click on for striking through in my standard thingy. @Hot Pork Pie: I have to admit I wasn't completely awake / sure what you meant here. I have my old unused, and the current username, so they are both inappropriate? However, as caffeine levels rose, I realised you must be talking about me reporting (as you write, actually) other people's usernames to UAA, indeedly. Thank you, however, there must be other people having reported way more than I have so far. Yeah, come on, not every fart I make is interesting as per WP:FART.
