in as or whatever

I feel uncomfortable about edits I made to Embedded system. I made the change from "as" to "in" because I could not parse it in the original form. I am not sure that my latest change fixes your concern either. The basic question seems to be, "Is a microprocessor ever an embedded system, or is it a part of an embedded system, or both?" Thanks for noticing and reverting my change. Comfr (talk) 00:18, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As you can see in the Talk page, registered users agreed to remove the nationality (Italian or Croatian) of this polymath from Dalmatia. I am unsure we can speak of edit war here. The user insisting in writing that this polymath is Croatian, is an IP address who actually never participated to the discussion. Silvio1973 (talk) 15:57, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Point taken. I might have been sleepy when I protected it. Let's try pending change control: established editors can approve edits before they are visible to the public. —EncMstr (talk) 20:18, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the existing version is the result of a consensus driven by the decision to remove any reference to the nationality of this polymath. The rationale of the decision was that in the most reliable English sources the nationality is never stated. Silvio1973 (talk) 20:55, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! May I know what is the problem with my edits? It is enough to read Uskoks of Senj reference regarding Veranzio. The reference is not about Faust per se, but the reference is about his uncle Antonio Veranzio (Antun Vrančić). Sibenik Vrancics came to Sibenik in the 14th century from Bosnia. They were already nobles when they came there and Hungarian king again confirmed their status. P.S. My old IP was 95.156.172.21 https://books.google.ba/books?id=ht_-CgAAQBAJ&pg=PT159&lpg=PT159&dq=uskoks+of+senj&source=bl&ots=mMYabZa0pW&sig=Qdn6c3osax1xRLK5u2BLOImsTww&hl=bs&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjEyPum3Z_LAhVzb5oKHcb6Bns4ChDoAQgsMAI#v=snippet&q=vran%C4%8Di%C4%87&f=false95.156.172.225 (talk) 14:59, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article move-rename misunderstanding?

Regarding two recent moves of: List of graphic adventure games

As seen on the diff page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_graphic_adventure_games&action=history

On 20:33, 23 January 2016,‎ editor Jerryobject (me) moved page List of graphic adventure games to Comparison of graphic adventure games

My reason:
Article WP:TITLE conformed to reflect list > table format changes of 5 June 2012; first word "List" > correct word "Comparison".

On 13:41, 6 February 2016‎, editor The1337gamer moved page Comparison of graphic adventure games back to List of graphic adventure games over redirect

His reason:
there's no comparing here

Please: Who is correct? Was I in error? I thought tables were comparisons, not lists.

I have made many such page moves over the last decade. I dislike wasting time, mine or other's, on unproductive wheel spinning. I will move no more pages until I clearly understand the rules. I am very sorry if I have caused any problems.

Is this issue specified clearly and unambiguously somewhere in the voluminous Manual of Style? I need a suitable link to establish precedent, if ever I move another page.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Good day. -- Jerryobject (talk) 09:38, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Jerryobject: Offhand, I am not aware of any style or other guideline which definitively decides between List of ... and Comparison of ... titles. It seems to me that WP:TITLE applied with English language rules would naturally provide the answer.
It does look like List of graphic adventure games is the more proper title since all it does it enumerate the most basic facts of the entries. If it were to further classify the games like twitch versus strategy and role play versus chance/guessing/party/skill/sport/street/tabletop, or maybe give minimum memory, CPU features, Internet speed, etc., it would be a comparison list. For example, see Comparison of file systems: the first table is merely a list of file systems and if that is all the article had, it would best be named List of filesystems. But tables 2 through 6 clearly make this a comparison. —EncMstr (talk) 19:01, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Multiple tables comparing more than basic information. Got it. Thank you for a clear unambiguous differentiator. -- Jerryobject (talk) 12:23, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for tip

Hey! Thanks for the tip on reverting page vandalism! I will try to bear it in mind in the future. Spotted you like veggie cuisine - me also, veggie of 10 years. Trying to go vegan, but failing. One day! Cheers, Colin Colinmcdermott (talk) 19:51, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I see you have reverted a link i have added to the Sydney page - Could you please explain the reasoning when you said "Reverted good faith edits by Koconder (talk): There is already a tourism EL." What's EL? - Tourism Australia is Australia's Official Tourism Board, the other pages are from regional tourism offices. Koconder (talk) 05:45, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Koconder: An EL is an External Link. See that link for the guidelines for external links, one of which is minimize their use. Your link would belong in the Australia article, not in Sydney, wouldn't it? —EncMstr (talk) 05:52, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User name policy

If you have time, you might want to deal with this clear violation of the user name policy: User talk:LithiaMotors. – SJ Morg (talk) 03:47, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. I have soft blocked the user: it looks like they did useful additions, albeit rather promotional. —EncMstr (talk) 04:13, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
