Disagreement of sources?

The source of this article claims he was born in Paris; MusicSack's sources (at least, those that state his birthplace- it doesn't say which do) claim he was born in Argentina... odd. Schissel | Sound the Note! 15:50, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Place of Birth and nationality of parents

The latest research, like the last edition of Grove's dictionary, maintain that Herman Bemberg was born in Buenos Aires. His father, the legendary Argentine brewer Otto Bemberg, was of Alsatian, not German, origin. His mother belonged to the ancient aristocratic Argentine family of Ocampo, to which belonged the Argentine patriot general Francisco Ortiz de Ocampo, the formidable belle-lettrist Victoria Ocampo and her sister, the poet Silvina Ocampo, married to famous Argentine novelist, Adolfo Bioy Casares. Needless to say, the Ocampos are not at all German, but descendants of Spanish royal adelantados.

The well-known film-maker María Luisa Bemberg was Herman Bemberg's great niece.
