Jim Cantore
Jim Cantore, a Weather Channel (TWC) meteorologist and Storm-Tracker, is among the most prominent weather broadcasters on the channel. When a major weather event has occurred or is imminent, Cantore often reports from the site, often live; clips of him reporting while braving hurricane winds are a staple of the channel. Jim has reported from so many hurricanes that residents along the coast have given him the nickname "The Angel of Death".
Early life
Born in White River Junction, Vermont, Cantore graduated from nearby Lyndon State College. The Weather Channel gave him his first job out of college in July 1986.
Career Advancing
Cantore hosted the show Atmospheres in 2000 with Mish Michaels, and he narrated the show Storm Stories, which was shown daily at 8 and 11 p.m. He is also on The Weather Channel as their Storm-Tracker on Evening Edition now from 8 to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Cantore has reported from the sites of numerous hurricanes, including Hurricane Andrew in 1992, the 4 major hurricanes that affected Florida in 2004. Cantore also covered Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He has reported on-site from various blizzards and floods as well.
He is 5'8" tall.
