List of episodes

The sixth season of Law & Order aired on NBC between September 20, 1995, and May 22, 1996.

Cast

Rey Curtis (played by Benjamin Bratt) replaced season 5's Mike Logan (Chris Noth) in the role of junior detective. This change left District Attorney Adam Schiff (played by Steven Hill) as the only remaining member of the series' cast from the first season. Hill was not an original member of the cast as his character replaced D.A. Alfred Wentworth (played by Roy Thinnes) from the original pilot, "Everyone's Favorite Bagman". Paul Robinette (played by original cast member Richard Brooks) returns in the episode "Custody", his first guest appearance after his departure after season 3.

Notes and references

  • Benjamin Bratt joins the cast as Det. Rey Curtis in this season.
  • Det. Rey Curtis full first name, Reynaldo, is mentioned in the second episode, "Rebels".
  • This is the final season to feature Jill Hennessy as ADA Claire Kincaid.
  • "Charm City," episode 124, is the first part of a two-part crossover with the Homicide: Life on the Street episode "For God and Country." It is the first of three such crossover episodes with Homicide. The episode is included in the DVD set on the third DVD, after the episode "Charm City".
  • The episode "Encore" features Larry Miller reprising his role as Michael Dobson from the Season 5 episode "Coma".
  • In the episode "Custody", Richard Brooks reprises his role as former ADA Paul Robinette.
  • The episode "Atonement" features Michael Imperioli. He will portray Detective Nick Falco in Season 15.
  • The season finale episode "Aftershock" was the first and only episode of the entire Law & Order series to not feature a case and instead focus on the characters' private lives. Claire Kincaid is killed in a car accident, injuring Detective Lennie Briscoe. Detective Curtis has a sexual encounter with a girl he meets in the park; this will lead to marital problems in subsequent seasons.
