I'd prefer a reasoning. From my perspective both articles do not cover anything blog doesnt, both happen to be for link spam, and both can be argued to be pov forks...

It would really help if I knew what they were for. Are they about the bloggs or people getting 'opressed'

They are about blogging in specific communities, like Canadian blogosphere and other articles on Wikipedia. It's true, the Kurdish and Iranian articles as they stand now are about one-half link repository; this should be corrected by destubbing the articles, not eliminating them. Article blog is not community-specific. We have articles separate from Education concerning Education in the United States and Education in France; I don't see how either of them are "POV forks," and I don't see how these blog articles are either. --Jpbrenna 01:50, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wasnt going to prpose them for deletion. I just felt they needed some attention, which you agree.

I am concerned about statemens such as "Blogging in Iran operates under special circumstances as the Iranian government tends to discourage self-expression" (weasle words, who says so) or "This is something they have not always been able to do via other media" (there were kurdish websites and Kurdish tv networks). Statements such as those imply "pov forking". Of course the intention wasnt that but it appears that way.

Also I recomend a categorisation for all the "blog" related articles.

Sorry - that was a spurious link from the articles created list on my talk page. I accidentally clicked on the "Save" button instead of "Ignore" when I got to it. On a lot of the other articles, the program seemed to be suggesting genuinely useful spacing and other organizational changes, such as moving template and stub tags etc. If I made any other bad edits, please let me know. (With the exception of East Colonisation: I'm working on that right now as I noticed some changes that could only be accomplished by hand). --Jpbrenna 15:14, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, taking a quick glance at your edits, I'd say that this one and this one didn't serve any purpose either. Just keep in mind that editing a page causes it to pop up in peoples' watch lists and makes the page history more complicated, so try not to edit unless it accomplishes something. Also, the 'edit' links on your talk page are broken for me (they link to the wrong conversation) in Firefox v.1.5.0.4 -SCEhard T 16:15, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Latin translation needed

Hi there, JP, long time no see. I have a strange problem recently and I believe you might be able to help. There's a standard Latin form used in church birth registries everywhere in Europe at least until 19th century. It goes more or less like this: babtisavi infantem n(omi)ne Laurentium patris Symoni Masulis et Matris Catharinae Masulowa de villa Migance. I of course understand it, but this particular example is a tad problematic. To sum the controversy up, for me the name of Symoni Masulis in Nominative would be Symon Masul, while for some other guys the Nominative case would be Simon Masulis. Thanks. It took me some time to respond as I was kind of busy lately. In short, my thought went along the same lines but I needed confirmation from someone who speaks better Latin than yours truly. As a matter of fact the short text was used as an argument in a childish quarrel over a nationality of someone, whose parents could be either Masul (Masul, Masulis) or Masulis (Masulis, Masulisis?).
