List of Stargate SG-1 episodes
The plot of Stargate SG-1 follows directly from the plot of the 1994 movie Stargate. In many cases, knowledge of the events of the film is required to understand the happenings of Stargate SG-1, and as such a brief outline is given here.
In the story of the film, an ancient artifact of alien design (the eponymous Stargate) was found in Giza, and discovered to be capable of teleportation across the galaxy. Brilliant Egyptologist Daniel Jackson, Colonel Jack O'Neill and other recruits travel to the planet Abydos and free its people from the alien oppressor Ra, who had used Stargates to transport human slaves to many worlds for thousands of years, posing as a god. O'Neill returns to Earth without the newly betrothed Jackson, and there the Stargate program is shut down.[1]
The plot of Stargate SG-1 begins one year after O'Neill's return[2], and continues to develop in order through the episode list, in a sequential chronological order.
The first eight seasons of Stargate SG-1 are available for purchase on DVD. See Stargate SG-1 DVD for more information.
