Francesco Guidolin

Please don't call me a vandal. All information I have inputted is fact and most of it is sourced or linked to sourced Wikipedia material. Guidolin's managerial statistics is based on www.soccerbase.com

Darren Tilley

Hello sorry for not referencing my new edits, I just added statistics to Tilley's career based on the information found on this website www.soccerdatabase.eu. shotgun pete, talk. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shotgun pete (talkcontribs) 23:11, 3 November 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]

Hi MTW

Thank you for you reversion of my edit, I wasn't sure if apps and goals were to be included, I take it from you reverting it, they are not, this will now enable me to make more appropriate edits

Thank You for your edit at Olivier Giroud, your input is crucial to helping build Wikipedia! Cheers :) TeaLover1996 (talk) 04:51,

Philippe Coutinho

Hi Mattythewhite I'm new to editing wikipedia articles and all I really wanted to do was change the picture used in the article. I have found a few other pictures that would be more accurate for this footballer Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shivgattu1202 (talkcontribs) 16:11, 24 July 2015‎ (UTC)[reply]

Carl Pentney

Hi! Thank you for keeping an eye on the statistics and my edits. The Carl Pentney stats are retrieved from the match reports at Maidenhead United's Pitch Hero website, apart from the Bath City match on 18 August 2015, which was covered by Bath Chronicle.

Roy Carroll edit

Hi. I am only a very occasional contributor and have no idea how this process works. You removed my edit saying there was "no reliable source". I'm not sure why you think a source is necessary ; the season statistics speak for themselves, and are available for all to see on the 2007-8 season page for Derby - 14 games after Carroll began playing, during which he let in 38 goals, and the club set a new Premiership record for the lowest ever points total. If you need a cross-reference as a "reliable source" it would be this Wiki page : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007%E2%80%9308_Derby_County_F.C._season . I don't know how to use that in a way which is acceptable to you. BOB

Hi Matty - I was reverting a previous change that had removed a couple of words from an already cited quote that meant the quote was no longer accurate annd made no sense. The addition was part of the article cited for the entire sentence and as such would be covered by that citation. I'd normally have changed this under my own username (User:AndrewMcQ) but I've mislaid my password after a longish absence from editting. Would you revert or should I?

Juan Hohberg World Cup 1954

I edit about the game of Uruguay vs Hungary in the article about the Golden Team, here you have the source of the hearth attack of Juan Hohberg in spanish http://www.kaisermagazine.com/retroblog/juan-hohberg-el-charrua-que-esquivo-a-la-muerte/

I've added a link to prove that the club have turned full time and highlighted quote from that article from the chairman below:

"Hunter went on “Going to a day time training programme three days a week, is tantamount to turning Meadow Park and Boreham Wood into a full time football club for the first time in our history.."

Response

Hello, you sent me a message yesterday regarding putting capital letters on common nouns and having the same link in the info boxes. I'd just like to offer an explanation and if it satisfies you then great and if not then i'll listen to your advice. Regarding the capital letters, I have only been doing this in info boxes because the word promoted or relegated is in brackets and is not in a sentence. If it were I would not be putting a capital letter at the beginning of the words. I also think the info box looks more visually aesthetic with capital lettered words, otherwise i find the word (promoted or relegated) looks out of place as generally every other word in the info box has a capital letter. Secondly, regarding having the same link, I have only been doing this because clubs that are promoted and relegated obviously change league and thus the league and last season league link are different. In these cases there are two links. The problem I have is there is then a lack of consistency with clubs that stay in the same league as they only have one link, because as you say duplication is occurring. Thus personally I think it is better to have two links on all, rather than one link on some and two on other or one link on all and then having some league links you can't access.

Kind regards

Davide Petrucci

I put an external link to prove his height, his soccerway profile. (Rhinen)

Luke simpson

You are giving incorrect information have a look at York City FC link it says Luke Simpson is 6ft 2 not 5ft 10. Please stop damaging Simpsons appearance and stop leaving it blank for the games he played at Nantwich Town and find sufficient evidence of how many games played as again it is damaging for Simpson career. XLManny0 (talk) 08:04, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Nantwich appearances you are adding are unsourced. It is you who needs to "find sufficient evidence of how many games played", as per WP:BURDEN. Mattythewhite (talk) 13:29, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop wrongly editing Luke Simpson's page, if this does not stop with immediate effect I will take this matter further. Luke Simpson is 6ft 2 as shown on York City's official website, as it was already shown on on his page previously but you keep on insisting on wrongly editing his page to make him smaller then he actually is and this will look bad on Simpson as you know so please stop immediately. XLManny0 (talk) 21:21, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm concerned in dealing with facts that are verified by reliable sources, not in self-interested amelioration. Please cease your disruptive editing, for which you have already been blocked twice. Mattythewhite (talk) 21:25, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Matty, not trying to tell you how to do your job, but a mistake happens to anyone, so here it goes: are you sure about that move? What about his family? Maybe his grandfather was more known by his nickname (Marquitos), but the father was ALSO Marcos Alonso.

Attentively --Be Quiet AL (talk) 22:12, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I took the other Marcos Alonsos into consideration, and seeing as Marcos Alonso Peña is most commonly known as Marcos and Marcos Alonso Imaz is most commonly known as Marquitos, I am satisfied Marcos Alonso (footballer) is the most appropriate title. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:19, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As am I now :) --Be Quiet AL (talk) 22:26, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Graeme Murty

Matty

I apologise for the edit to Graeme Murty's page w/out a source, but please don't threaten to ban me.

This isn't an attempt at vandalism, it can quite easily be found online at various sources that Murty has been appointed Rangers F.C under 20's Coach.

You do excellent work in patrolling so many various pages, especially ones of strong interest to me in Scottish football. I put a lot of work into editing and attempting to uphold the standards of Wiki pages relating to Scottish Football, including many which do not receive a lot of attention. I would be very disappointed if I were to be banned from participating in Wiki editing due to a mistake I have made.

Thanks for your attention and feel free to talk or make revisions to my work and if you need me to assist in any way please contact me.

James Milner "citation needed" explosion

Mattythewhite, I had just noticed this evening that a long-outstanding Good Article Reassessment was open on this article, dating back to June 2015. When I took a look at the article to see whether the issues might still apply—they could easily have been fixed in the interim—I was aghast at the sheer number of "citation needed" tags; it seemed impossible that the article could possibly be considered a good article and be so deficient.

Then I took a closer look. Back on April 22 of this year, in a single massive edit, you added dozens upon dozens of "citation needed" templates, so that just about every sentence that did not have an actual citation had a template. The problem: in many cases, citations were not needed.

If three sentences are covered by one source, then the MOS makes clear that having the source citation at the end of the last of these sentences is perfectly fine (exception: if a quote appeared in one of the earlier sentences, or if an especially controversial fact was presented). In fact, it makes the article easier to read if citations don't appear constantly. I've just edited the "Early life" section of this article, updating a couple of URLs that were out of date, deleting five "citation needed" templates, and finding a source for the sixth. (I've also found a source in the next section where a citation was indeed needed.)

I think you ought to go through, check, and remove the remaining unnecessary "citation needed" templates. (I've spent far more time on it than I planned, and can't afford any more at present.) As it stands, I don't see how the article can retain its Good Article listing with so much apparently missing sourcing—what you've done is effectively label the article as badly sourced and unverifiable. It may be that these is serious underciting here, but based on what I found, the odds are it's not as bad as it seems. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:44, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

GA Reassessment of James Milner

James Milner, an article that you or your project may be interested in, has been nominated for an individual good article reassessment. If you are interested in the discussion, please participate by adding your comments to the reassessment page. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status may be removed from the article. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:36, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please could you protect Andre Gray, the article is receiving extensive vandalism as a result of the media reports published this evening. Thank you, LTFC 95 (talk) 17:57, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Newcastle United F.C.

You have said that I vandalized Newcastle United's Wikipedia page by inputting incorrect information, but I did no such thing, I inputted the information that DeAndre Yedlin has joined Newcastle United F.C. and also provided a source, so please don't accuse me of something I have not done. Here is proof that DeAndre Yedlin has joined Newcastle United: http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/69/transfer-zone/2016/08/24/26799752/source-deandre-yedlin-completes-newcastle-transfer — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamestlynch99 (talkcontribs) 16:13, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The source you cited explicitly stated that the move was not yet complete. Mattythewhite (talk) 16:21, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The link I sent in this conversation has a headline saying 'OFFICIAL: DeAndre Yedlin completes $6.6M Newcastle transfer'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamestlynch99 (talkcontribs) 20:18, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Historical Context

Per Template:Infobox person Place of birth: city, administrative region, sovereign state. Soviet union never had sovereignty over Baltic states. Occupation of the Baltic states. People born in France 1940–1944 are not listed as born in German Reich – Claude Miller, Christian Boltanski, Catherine Deneuve, Bérangère Vattier, Frank Alamo, Jean-Claude Dassier... --Klõps (talk) 23:53, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So this table at the Riga article is incorrect, then? Mattythewhite (talk) 00:14, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. It is oversimplified. I've seen these tables often removed as WP:LISTCRUFT. If article about Paris would have this kind of table it would also have a line  Nazi Germany 1940-1944. So firstly, go and change these persons, that I listed above, as born in German Reich.--Klõps (talk) 01:35, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mark Tyler

Hi Matty. I added 1 league appearance to Mark Tyler in the 1994/1995 season. Been a lot of talk recently about how many games he's played with 500 approaching. It seems the figure on Wikipedia omits a 73 minute substitute appearance against Bradford on 14/01/95 - http://www.uptheposh.com/matches/672/

Other than that it's fully comprehensive. Soccerbase, for example, includes the sub appearance but omits 18 (from Ismithian, FA Cup Qualifiers and FA Trophy games)
