FLCs
Cool, I'll head over there. While you're floating around that place, cast a glance at my latest offering, Ipswich Town F.C. seasons, which I'm just about to place at WP:FLC. Cheers! The Rambling Man 17:03, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, and I'm not sure it's good practice to have a PR and FLC/FAC running simultaneously, so I'd axe the peer review if I were you. The Rambling Man 17:09, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi! Great work at Real Madrid C.F. article. I worked a lot, too. I'm sure that together we can make Real Madrid a featured article.--Hadrianos1990 06:20, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the note. It seems that he is - my reference book says that he was appointed Real Madrid "coach" in February 1949 (so the dates don't quite tally), and then went on to manage Poole Town. Daemonic Kangaroo 11:19, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
James Milner Off the pitch section
Over the past few weeks I’ve been researching desperately to try and expand this section. But for the most part I can only find very trivial facts. Another user has told me that off the pitch sections are not mandatory and in this case it would be best to remove it completely. I’m not so sure, however minor his off the pitch activities might be it would be useful to give an idea of what he’s like as a person.
Please give me your views. Should it be expanded, removed completely or charged in some other way. Please give your views in the Milner Off the pitch section on my talk page. Buc 16:36, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Not sure why the one who played twice for York couldn't have just had a new page rather than moving the existing one for a much more notable player, but maybe you could have also corrected the now incorrect links that you made when moving the page? Also the talk page for the new one just goes to the talk page for the old one. No idea how you fix that, but thought I'd let you know. WikiGull 07:46, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
OK, that's fair enough, but it still would have been a good idea to correct the wrong links that it created. WikiGull 15:05, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Your list of York players
Hi, noticed that one of your sub-pages is a list of all York players. You may have seen that I've something similar for Torquay players (User:WikiGull/Torquay United). One thing I do is keep the red links and players I've not worked on seperate to those I have worked on. Makes it easier to spot when you need to change a link and if someone has started a page on a player you know about then you can obviously add to it. Not telling you what to do, but just in case it's useful, I thought I'd let you know. WikiGull 15:23, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Question you may be able to help with
Hi Matty
According to the project's booklist you've got Football League Players' Records 1888 - 1939 - would you be able to do me a massive favour and look up if there's any details on where Roy Bethell or Dave Whitelaw might have played after leaving Gillingham and when they left the club? Roger Triggs' book on the history of the Gills has this data missing, with the result that List of Gillingham F.C. players has a couple of unsightly question marks on it....
Cheers!!!!
ChrisTheDude 13:34, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Many thanks for that Matty! I'm not sure what to do about the discrepancy in Bethell's stats, though...... ChrisTheDude 14:45, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- I've just signed up for allfootballers.com and they agree with your book on Bethell's stats and also give a different number for those of Wally Battiste (149). Would you be able to give me the page numbers on which those two players' stats appear so that I can cite your book rather than Triggs'? (allfootballers.com gives the same stats as are already in the article for all other pre-war players......) ChrisTheDude 15:21, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Anthony Lloyd
Hi,
Not sure if you added them, but do you not think the sub-headings on the Anthony Lloyd page are a bit ridiculous. Lose them and we can have flowing prose rather than the stilted and repetitive text we have now (with things like one line per subheading). Am happy to revise it, but seeing as you edit it a lot thought I'd run this past you first. WikiGull 16:32, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- Nice one, looks much better. WikiGull 19:51, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
I see that you have re-instated the Prod - As it says in the article's talk page, he has played for a professional club albeit briefly as a sub in an FA Cup match, but that makes him (just) notable, so I think the prod should be removed. --Daemonic Kangaroo 19:05, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm rather surprised that you re-instated the prod as you appear to have created the article in the first place and the prod was removed by an administartor rather than a "random" editor!. --Daemonic Kangaroo 19:10, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
You've also prodded this article. I came accross this using the "Random article" tab at the left. Having checked his history, it seems that this article should go as he doesn't appear to have plyaed for a fully professional team. --Daemonic Kangaroo 19:08, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Nélson de Jesus Silva
Hi Mattythewhite. You recently assessed the Nélson de Jesus Silva article [2], however at the time it was suffering from some vandalism. You may wish to reassess it, and I would also appreciate if you could check the talk page, and the material which I restored, since you appear to be more familiar with the content than me. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 19:18, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
PROD
A PROD tag can be removed by anyone for any reason. Disagreement is NOT sufficient basis to restore the tag. The only times the tag can be restored are 1) when it is removed as part of blatant vandalism or 2) it is replaced with a CSD tag (in which case the CSD tag should be left and the PROD restored). Once anyone disagrees in good faith, PROD is not available as a deletion option. So this edit by you was improper. If you believe the article should be deleted, you can use AFD. GRBerry 19:41, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Red Links
I am removing them, because if there is no article for them to link to, then there needn't be a link for them, I do try and remove things such as (footballer) in the preview, if the don't work, i simply remove the link to make the article look better. El-Nin09 20:51, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
James Milner FAC
I don’t know if you’re aware but James Milner is a current FAC. It has been one for about two weeks now but so far only one user has provided feedback. Since have given feedback on this article in the past I hope you can provide some here. In particular the flow of the writing as that seem to be the main thing holding it back at the moment. Book
Hi Matty
Could you do me a huge favour and look up two more players in the pre-WWII football leage records book? The players are George Dorsett and his brother Joe - could you confirm that the book lists them (assuming it lists place of birth) as both having been born in Brownhills, and if so what page(s) this info is on?
Many thanks!!!!

- Many thanks Matty. In between my football edits I've been doing some work on Brownhills as a favour to my wife, who comes from the town, and finding anyone to list in the "famous people" section has been like looking for hay in a big stack of needles :-) ChrisTheDude 06:57, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
FL Main page proposal
You either nominated a WP:FLC or closed such a nomination recently. As such, you are the type of editor whose opinion I am soliciting. We now have over 400 featured lists and seem to be promoting in excess of 30 per month of late (41 in August and 42 in September). When Today's featured article (TFA) started (2004-02-22), they only had about 200 featured articles and were barely promoting 20 new ones per month. I think the quality of featured lists is at least as good as the quality of featured articles was when they started appearing on the main page. Thus, I am ready to open debate on a proposal to institute a List of the Day on the main page with nominations starting November 1 2007, voting starting December 1 2007 and main page appearances starting January 1 2008. For brevity, the proposal page does not discuss the details of eventual main page content, but since the work has already been done, you should consider this proposal assuming the eventual content will resemble the current content at the featured content page. Such output would probably start at the bottom of the main page. The proposal page does not debate whether starting with weekly list main page entries would be better than daily entries. However, I suspect persons in favor of weekly lists are really voicing opinions against lists on the main page since neither TFA nor Picture of the day started as weekly endeavors, to the best of my knowledge. See the List of the Day proposal and comment at WP:LOTDP and its talk page.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 19:39, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Matthew - according to this you have a copy of Football League Players' Records 1888 - 1939. Could you please do me a favour and check to see if a Donald Mood ever existed, as the article claims? Amjad Iqbal
Just a quick note about Amjad Iqbal. I noticed you un-redlinked him on the Farsley page for being non-notable. I know he's not played in the league but he is a Pakistani international. Would that count towards notability? Peanut4 22:16, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'd say any international, whatever country, well at least if it's not a friendly, are as if not more notable than a lot of players in League 2. I'd actually spotted Iqbal had recently played for Pakistan and was going to add it to his entry when I realised he didn't have an entry. And I don't have enough info about him at all to even really start much of a stub. Peanut4 22:25, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

LOTD proposal
You have nominated a recent successful WP:FL.
