Hello Visitor

Welcome to Abdullah Alam's Talk Page.

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Carl Van biography

Hi Abdullah,

Thanks for letting me know specifically the issue with Carl Van. The biography is taken directly from his books and cited (it is also listed in a few insurance training sites). Is there a reason why I would need to go and reverify a biography that is already published several times? I'd really like to get this approved and move on. thanks! --Openallnite (talk) 14:48, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you will have to reference independent and reliable sources for it. Own publications may not be enough to affirm the subject's notability. Anyway, you can again put it up for review and let it be assessed by some other reviewer. Let's see how he/she goes about it.--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:49, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Singing Adams page

HI

thanks for the advice! I've added citations from BBC and other reliable sources as per the guide you sent. The new page is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Singing_Adams. Many thanks. --Wired79 (talk) 15:17, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your article has now been accepted. Try to add more details to the subject and improve the quality of the article.--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:48, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Alam - Can you guide me?

Hi Alam,

Thank you for taking the time to read over my submission for the proposed "Robert E. Bartholomew" Wikipedia page. I am wondering if you could give me a specific example of where I need to add a reliable source. I was worried that my original submission may have been overly referenced, so I removed many of the citations when I did the rewrite. Best wishes. Bob — Preceding unsigned comment added by RobertB 12th (talkcontribs) 00:14, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You need to add references to the first and second paragraphs of the article. Also, look at some of the well-written articles on Wikipedia and adapt to the formatting styles. Do not reference at the end of the paragraph, try to reference within the paragraph for individual lines. In order to affirm the notability of the subject, you also need to cite references independent of the subject (may include newspapers' references or online news websites, but not blogs and self publications).--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:47, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jacqulyn Buglisi

Alam,

Thank you for looking over the submission, I extremely appreciate your time. My application for Jacqulyn Buglisi was denied due to insufficient sources. I wrote this article with Jacqulyn Buglisi so I feel this is a problem that can be fixed if I edit a few Details. If you could please help clarify what I need to get this published that would be appreciated. I feel I Have all that is needed to provide a strong article I am just not clear on which direction to take and what errors We made during this creation. Thank you again and more soon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.252.50.69 (talk) 11:32, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have now added the 'citation needed' tags where a reference would likely be desired. The reference list in the article contains 4 references at present, out of which 2 refer to the subject's own website. The required references need to be independent of the source. The other two references are good. Try to get 'independent' references at the mentioned places. Also, you may consider making sections of your article so that it presents a better look. The infobox also needs to be updated with date of birth and other things (check other existing pages with similar subjects).--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:46, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Abdullah,
I hope this finds you well. I have reviewed your comments and took a sufficient amount of time revising the article so it meets the criteria needed for your website's standards. I hope I was able to meet what you have asked and hope to see the article on the live web soon. If there are any problems, please contact me, I am very much for the publication of this article and will do anything to see its success. Thank you and have a nice afternoon. VirtualFriend1 — Preceding unsigned comment added by VirtualFriend1 (talkcontribs) 21:17, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You need to add sections to the article, otherwise it looks more or an essay than an encyclopedia article. Avoid the use of peacock terms in the article. I see that your article is now presented for review. I am leaving it this time for other reviewers to have a look at it and see if they agree with it. But to be fair to you, I am not much hopeful that it would be accepted at this point of time. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 12:14, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Visual QR Codes article

Hi Alam, Thanks for reviewing my article about Visual QR Codes. By your request i have entered several relevant cites from different web press locations. Please let me know if they are ok our if theres something more i should add. Thanks!--Uriel Peled (talk) 17:08, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a 'citation needed' tag at the first paragraph. Also, you need to give some more details to the article. From how it stands at the moment, the reader does not get much of a clue about the subject. Anyways, this is what I felt; other reviewers may have a different viewpoint. That is why, I did not decline it this time; it is open for review. But still I believe others may also ask for the same.--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:43, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK, will continue to add and improve the content thanks a lot.--Uriel Peled (talk) 07:12, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Alam,
I've added more cites from different sources about the penetrations and uses of QR Codes in the marketing and advertisment industries, and also a short remark on how people can make Visual QR Codes if they wish to. Please tell me if it is ok and what else is needed for the article. Thanks!, Uriel.--Uriel Peled (talk) 13:29, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I do not see any changes made to the article. At least the history of the article is not suggesting anything, neither could I pick much from the article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Visual_QR_Codes --Abdullah Alam (talk) 15:52, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/ChangeMakrs

Hello! Can you explain more which sources are unreliable? And, what sources would be reliable in order to get this article accepted? *http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/ChangeMakrs --Joel Kirk (talk) 02:18, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

One reliable and independent source may still be needed (at any place). I would also appreciate if you can add more details to your subject. If you feel disagreeing, you can put it up again for review and let some other reviewer decide for it.--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:42, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Would you mind giving the article another look? I added more to the content, including sources.--Joel Kirk (talk) 14:29, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

D Henry Fenton Inquiry

Hello,

Regarding my D Henry Fenton entry, please let me know how Allmusic.com is not a credible reference. The subject has no relation to AllMusic in any regard. Please advise. User name 404 (talk) 04:39, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

One reference is not sufficient to affirm a subject's notability. You need to back it up with additional independent (and reliable) references.--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:38, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please inform me of other 'creditable' album credit websites other than AllMusic. Perhaps albumcredits.com? Which I can provide. — Preceding unsigned comment added by User name 404 (talkcontribs) 04:49, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You may look up for some news sources where the subject has been covered. Any local newspapers of repute (or their websites), but not blogs, etc. may be sufficient.--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:39, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
News outlets printing album credits. Really? Please elaborate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by User name 404 (talkcontribs) 04:57, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hasn't your subject been covered by any newspaper to-date??--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:39, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, but not relating to Mitch Easter or Steve Holroyd which I am referencing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by User name 404 (talkcontribs) 05:01, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You need to be sure first what you are creating. The title seems to be referring to a person 'D Henry Fenton' and not to his specific works. I guess creating an article for the subject 'D Henry Fenton' might be useful. For reference of how a page might be, you may have a look at Davidson Brothers.--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:39, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. A musician. Who's body of work is based on recordings, which are produced by others. Hence the references. — Preceding unsigned comment added by User name 404 (talkcontribs) 05:11, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
To end the discussion, you may look at my above discussion and try to add up more details backed up by independent references to the subject in order to stand a chance of getting it approved.--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:39, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for being so vague. Much appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by User name 404 (talkcontribs) 05:19, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I guess I could have been even more vague. Tried to help but ......... Anyways, best of luck with your article.--Abdullah Alam (talk) 05:39, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The idea of your place in the Wikipedia realm is to 'guide' with specifics. Going forward I have no better idea of how to write articles then I did when I first signed up. Just my opinion of course. User name 404 (talk) 05:39, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Bob Brillante

Good morning, Abdullah, Please advise about what kind of additional sources you would recommend in order to have the article on Bob Brillante accepted. Thank you. --Danabrillante (talk) 15:15, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have now added 'citation needed' tags at places where a reference should be provided. Keep in mind that the reference has to be unrelated to the subject i.e., independent of the subject. I have also marked some paragraphs for deletion. You may consider removing them as they are mostly repetition of things. I have also suggested an alternate name for a section. Also, try to use the in-built reference citation method so that the references are according to the format provided; they currently aren't. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 16:12, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see your notations and suggestions. Thank you for the clarification. I will add the recommended citations and make edits according to your instructions. Then I will resubmit for review. I appreciate your assistance! --Danabrillante (talk) 16:54, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Abdullah, I am writing to request your assistance with another editor who is making egregious, unwarranted, and factually untrue edits to the article about Bob Brillante and a linked article about Florida's News Channel. This editor removed content and references. Since I am new to Wikipedia's community of editors, would you please advise me about what course of action to take? Thank you for your assistance.--Danabrillante (talk) 20:11, 1 November 2012 (UTC)Danabrillante[reply]
You can always undo the unwarranted and undesired changes by going the 'history' tab of the article. If you feel that the changes made by Qworty (talk), who seems to be a senior editor to me, are 'egregious, unwarranted, and factually untrue' as you mentioned them; you can post it on his talk page and discuss the matter. You can also post on the talk page of the article regarding any issues with the article. If still your issue is not resolved, let me know. I will tell you the alternate way of resolving conflicts among editors. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 11:46, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/ConfluenceWorldSchool

Dear Alam,

Thanks for taking time to review the submission 'Confluence World School'.

In my last edit to the submission, I had provided a link to the school website which has scanned newspaper articles - more than 20 of them. These newspapers include The Times of India supplements (The Times of India is a newspaper of national repute in India), Amar Ujala, Dainaik Jagran (again newspapers of regional repute in the state of Uttarakhand in India) plus a few local newspapers. The only issue is that these papers are not available online (in case of The Times of India, the supplement Kumaon Plus is not available online), thus the articles cannot be referenced online, and thus have been scanned and put online in the school website itself. Would request you to check the hyperlinks on the following url: http://www.confluence.edu.in/news.aspx. As per my understanding and my experience of writing wikipedia articles, these offline sources should suffice for ensuring the notability of the subject as these are multiple sources - all of them credible newspapers in their own right. I would request you to please guide me on the same. -- PC0001 (talk) 18:12, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I do not think that these references might suffice. Anyways, this is my personal opinion, you can put it up for review again and let's see what other reviewers think about it. But before resubmitting, there are some other relevant issues that you need to consider. Your article is not written in a tone required of an encyclopedia article. You need to rewrite it with a neutral tone. You also have to avoid peacock terms in the article. Remove sections like Vision and Mission as it is not the prospectus. These are some of the issues that other reviewers will point out when you resubmit.--Abdullah Alam (talk) 03:20, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

All these articles about vert skating are very preliminary in nature. You need to enhance them in order to stand a chance to have them approved. Back up your subjects by adding more details to them and adding independent (and reliable) references to them. These references may be from newspapers or online reports (but not blogs) where your subjects have been covered. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 04:36, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/David Wetherill

Hi Abdullah,

Thanks for taking the time to review my article I proposed. It was the first time I had submitted an article, so I expected something to pass by me and end up with a big fat decline! I'm glad you pointed out for me what it was (too essayish), and hopefully have rectified it. You're a patient man. John -- Copywriterjohn (talk) 16:57, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I personally feel that the article is still not up to the mark. Anyways, I will leave it to other reviewers to review it this time. But frankly speaking, I am not hopeful. You need to look at some of the other Wikipedia articles on relevant subjects and try to adapt to their style of presenting the information. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 17:04, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that feedback.
Just so you know, I'm not writing about myself or anybody I know personally, just somebody I felt there should be a wikipedia article about, so I'm not trying to dress anything up and any tips that help me write the article in a manner that is both impartial and acceptable is taken on-board. Thanks again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Copywriterjohn (talkcontribs) 14:23, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article has now been accepted by another reviewer and moved into the article space. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 01:17, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Abdullah my title has been changed. The (Basketball) has been dropped which makes it harder to find my page unless you type in C. for his middle intial. There are other Justin Hamiltons that play basketball and when you type it, they come up and not him. Do you know why it was dropped — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iknowball (talkcontribs) 08:04, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually the reviewer who accepted your article approved the name without the word 'basketball'. You can directly ask that reviewer about it. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 11:38, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Debra Ringold

Hi Abdullah,

Thank you for your feedback. As per your notes I have added JSTOR citation sources. I re-read the guidelines, and believe that there are enough sources present in the article. If you feel that sources are still missing, please advise about what kind of additional sources you would recommend in order to have the article on Debra Jones Ringold accepted. Thank you for your help. -Bherman2 (talk) 12:33, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your article has now been accepted. You still need to improve it by adding other independent references (the article is short of references). --Abdullah Alam (talk) 11:45, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Articles_for_creation/Malta_Arise_Front

Dear Abdullah,

Whilst I thank you for the time and dedication in going through my article, it would be of great help If you could give me more guidance with regards to my article "Articles_for_creation/Malta_Arise_Front". This is my first contribution to Wikipedia and would be grateful if you could help me out by specifying further your comments. Are there any parts of the article in particular that require amendments? Thanks you. [Re your comment -This submission reads more like an essay than an encyclopedia article. Submissions should summarise information in secondary, reliable sources and not contain opinions or original research. Please write about the topic from a neutral point of view in an encyclopedic manner.] Sammymeilaq (talk) 16:34, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You need to add sections to the article, otherwise it does not look like an encyclopedia subject. You may look at some of the other well-written Wikipedia articles to have a feel of the formatting required for the article. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 11:53, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

MIMS Ireland

I'm resubmitting my MIMS Ireland entry, but I'm afraid it might be rejected again because of lack of independent references. MIMS is a widespread used medical guide for doctors in Ireland ( for long was the only one), and every single doctor in Ireland knows about it, but it is hard to find references for it (and not sure what kind of references?) The Irish Medical Times and MIMS (UK) both have an entry in Wikipedia without real external references either, so what's the difference? I also tried to have an entry that does not look like an essay (I changed the 'origin' part for that purpose), but I'm not sure again if that will be enough as the only reference is an article published in the Irish medical Times and republished on an health website (this one is independent though. It is frustrating though not to be able to get an entry for this very well known medical reference when both MIMS UK and Irish Medical Times seems to be there without particular reference requirements! Mcmousseau (talk) 16:10, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have now added 'citation needed' tags at 2 places. Try to get some independent ones in this regard. Also, I have added two comments, you can read them. As far as your concern about other related articles present on Wikipedia not fulfilling the requirements, I can not say on other reviewers' behalf. But sometimes, reviewers feel that the article is worthy (although not supported by highly independent references) and approve the article with marking it as a 'stub' or a 'start class' article which can then be enhanced afterwards. In your case, 3 of the reviewers have declined the submission, so none found it to be acceptable at this point. I will advise to work on my suggested points, hopefully you will make it through.--Abdullah Alam (talk) 01:29, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback. I tried to amend as suggested and included examples of pieces with educational grants that were also published on MIMS Ireland website. I cannot really go beyond that to give examples of companies as they are so many which each month support MIMS Ireland with ads and there is no basis to select only a few. (Note: MIMS UK wikipedia entry has the exact same statement regarding pharmaceutical industry support without giving any examples either).Mcmousseau (talk) 12:12, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Johnny Angel - Musician Page

Hi Abdullah, I have reviewed your review and still can't find the issue with my references. There are 9 links to the verifiable information, almost all of which is from third party articles about Johnny Angel Wendell. None of it violates any copyrights. I have read everything available on the topic and I still haven't found anything that violates (or doesn't follow) the guidelines. I would like to have this submission approved so that I may also have the page name changed to the more correct "Johnny Angel Wendell" as per the Wikipedia guidelines. Thanks.Toodell (talk) 17:47, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The 9th reference from youtube is not considered a good reference at Wikipedia. Many of the sections in the article are without any references. I guess you need to shrink (remove unreferenced content) your article or provide some more references for those unreferenced sections. Anyways, this is what I think. If you feel otherwise, you can again put it up for review and let other reviewers decide for it. By the way, I have now moved your page and renamed it as "Johnny Angel Wendell", although it is still not accepted. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 04:00, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, Ok I get it now. I need to attach the references at every point it is used. And removing the youtube video is no big deal either, not a problem, I didn't know Wikipedia's opinion of such. I will make these changes and resubmit. Btw, thank you for moving the page as well. But I do have a question.. how do I resubmit after making changes? The submit link doesn't show up any more.Toodell (talk) 02:31, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
After you are done with your changes, have a look at the 'rejection box' of the first reviewer on your article (below mine). There you will find a line 'You are encouraged to make improvements by clicking on the "Edit" tab at the top of this page. When you are ready to resubmit, click here'. Click there and it will be resubmitted. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 04:10, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Dan Costa (pianist)

Good afternoon,

Could you kindly tell me why the article about Dan Costa (pianist) was declined? Are you saying that All About Jazz, Downbeat, Huffington Post, Jazz in Europe, etc. are not reliable sources?

The submission has number of issues. It does not conform to the Wikipedia's inline reference method. It is currently a one-liner. You may also consider expanding it and adding more reliable and independent references in order to establish the subject's notability. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 06:09, 28 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Bro

For the submission to be included in Wikipedia, you need to establish notability of the subject. Twitter mentions are not references. You need to provided independent and reliable references to the subject. I can see that the submission has been deleted many times; further establishing that the subject is not notable at the moment. --Abdullah Alam (talk) 06:03, 28 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
