WP:BOOKS list
Yes I am still willing to do that! The only thing I need is what fields do you want me to check for. Please have a look at the WP:NOVELS list and tell me what you want added or removed. The criteria that is on WP:NOVELS is the defualt, so if that is what you want say so, if not just say remove <item> or add <item>. That is all I need. Thanks for letting me be of service. —— Eagle (ask me for help) 20:28, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, and tell me where you want me to put the list. (give me a project location). Cheers! —— Eagle (ask me for help) 20:28, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Just a tad confused
Definatly doable. Just I need you to clarify the non-fiction thing. This is what I took from it. Genre = non-fiction. If I am mistaken plese tell me. If I am right also tell me!! :) —— Eagle (ask me for help) 21:18, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
So...
If Genre = non-fiction does not exist... it is incomlete.
If I am right, then I will have the list done by tommarow... right now I am a bit busy with WikiVoter. Sorry :( —— Eagle (ask me for help) 21:29, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
last clarification
Sorry about this.... if genre = (nothing) it is incomplete if genre = (non fiction) then it is complete (for that field) if genre = (something else) it is complete...
am I correct —— Eagle (ask me for help) 21:43, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
skamp_s.jpg copyright status
I've added the source of Image:skamp_s.jpg, It's a concert promotion photo and I thought that should fall under the {{promophoto}} tag, but if I'm wrong then I'll remove the image and it can be deleted. P.S. I'm slightly new and didn't completely understand the copyright laws on Wikipedia, so I'm sorry -- AndriusG 22:19, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Solar Direct
Hello,
The article I submitted for solar direct is mainly written be me with some exerpts from their website, I wrote this article original as a school project on multinational organizations in our area and I have obtained full permission from the original author for the exerpt. Please tell me how I can provide the nescesary proof that I did infact obtain permission, I have the original email where permission is granted that I could forward somewhere. Thank you for your help in this, as I am new to wikipedia but look forward to contributing more in the future as I become aquainted with standard wiki procedures/practices.

ok..
What further explaining do you require? I am trying to explain the article is not in any form of copywright infringement. I wrote a paper about this company for school and quoted their vision/philosophy as part of the article, I even referenced it to the original location and have full authorization to post it as part of my article. Do you require further proof of this? if so how would you like it sent to you? I hope I did this right, im still new to wikipedia... Guiken 14:24, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Please, before I go insanse, what SVG images should be needed for the article. I have been going nuts and redrawing nearly every flag in I Stand For Canada and I need to know when to quit. Thanks. A shaky User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 06:23, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

WP:BOOKS and WP:NOVELS joint list?
Is it possible that we could get both of these projects (even all projects that use {{infobox book}}) to work on this list as a joint effort. This would save a lot of parsing and potential misses do to not having a particular word or two. Also, with a joint effort we can improve this infobox across all projects. (please note that I can also make a joint, list of missing images in infoboxes... This would be really easy to do if I did not have to parse for "novel" types or "book" types. —— Eagle (ask me for help) 22:08, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi, you took this article down for possible copywrite violation. There has been no violation, I have permission. It has been over a week and I put alot of work into that article. Please respond as soon as you can. Guiken 19:09, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Uploading Images
I only uploaded images for one specifc page. And apparently, you're overlooking the fact that I've been using the {{GFDL-self}}tag from the very get-go!

The images are from the movie The Golden Child with Eddie Murphy. A key plot point is when the female lead, played by Charlotte Lewis, gets shot in the back with a crossbow and "dies"/is left in a deep sleep.TMC1982 5 August 2006 (UTC)

New comment
The image is sourced. What was wrong? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lorieposes (talk • contribs)
I don't understand. I did source the image. It is my image of myself and I made it public and selected the drop-down option that states that. What didn't I do that I should have?
Lorie — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lorieposes (talk • contribs)
I read that images don't HAVE to have source pages. That image is on my homepage, but in the membesr-only area. A link won't go there without a username and password. Does it have to have a source link? What do you suggest? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lorieposes (talk • contribs)

Thank you for your concern. i quickly e-mailed the webmaster and aprox. fifteen minutes later had an e-mail returned to me. This e-mail notified me, and I quote, that I "had inquired about a promotional photograph for a show, concert, or artist.." I then re-listed it. If you still think this is still a problem let me know why, because I feel, being it a promo shot, no rights are be reserved, as gernerally the case with promo shots. I accept that i didnt follow through the first time, and may have made a mistake, however I feel that the issue has been corrected and that the problem no longer exists. Thanks, ganfon.
note: in the book "the Pythons" i noticed the same shot is featured and has the caption: "One of the original posters for the show." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ganfon (talk • contribs)
1.) i think it was self-explanitory. (except spelling error, sorry) 2.) Couldn't find an e-mail for you, but here is the entire message.

Sonatine
Hi Feytey, i was editing the Sonatine article and noticed that you made a mistake as an editor had added:
- | preceded_by = A Scene at the Sea
- | followed_by = Getting Any?
And you reverted his/her edit claiming that these titles were not the good ones. The problem is he/she was actually right! Preceding movie is あの夏、いちばん静かな海。and the following one is みんな~やってるか!, you should problably need to check Office Kitano's website: check on the "movie" row, on left. Actually the dude was right and you removed his/her info. I'm gonna fix it by now and will check the other movies articles if i can add the chronology too. Maybe you'd better check your source next time. :) Shame On You 20:28, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- hey thanks for the message, do you mean it can only be used when talking about a trilogy or stuff? it cannot be used with unconnected movies? this is stupid. i used this parameter the same way it is used for music album, preceding is the previous album and followed by is the next album.~anyway if it is supposed to only used for trilogy this is stupid. Shame On You 21:17, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- lol this is senseless whos the guy in charge here? :) what do you think? should we remove it? i guess this is harmless anyway. nobody had the idea to use it at for the music album?! :) Shame On You 21:23, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- i see what you mean, connection to the director is the more logical actually but well. this template should be redesigned actually. ok this is stupid but i'll remove the links. i hate to follow stupid rules. thank you anyway for your help. Shame On You 21:41, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Solar Direct
I dont understand this, I spent weeks writing an article, making every correction asked by wikipedia, corresponding with anyone I could find to speak to, attaining all the nescesary permissions and then you mark my article as possible copywright infringment. I explain that I have full authorization and am willing to do anything nescesary to prove that, I wait weeks for a response and all you tell me is that someone will see the comments and get back to me, yet my talk page is empty and my inbox has nothing reguarding it. All the work writing the article for nothing as it has now been removed. Is this standard practice at wikipedia? How can you expect people to willingly contribute their time and effort into writing indepth articles that will only be discarded on a whim without even the decency of a followup or the chance to correct whatever needs to be fixed. I spent along time on the article and had planned on contributing many more articles in the future but I dont even have so much as a personal copy of all the work I put in. I think that's very unjust to say the least. Guiken 15:31, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
I put a correct licence tag to the image since its fair use. What else is needed for its justifcation?. Storm05 12:56, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Origally it was listed as a screenshot, but you removed the image from the article because it was something else other than a tv screenshot. I'll replace the promo tag with the tv screenshot. Storm05 13:03, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, then what about use in other articles other than the MSNBC or MSNBC news articles, what fair use tag would i need?. Storm05 13:12, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- What i meant was, I want to use this image in this article, but you said I can only use the image in articles about MSNBC or MSNBC news. Storm05 13:26, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Then what do I do?, should i place this image up for deletion or find a fair use tag that allows me to use this image in the article im writing. Storm05 13:39, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

TSB
sorry about that. im fairly new to wiki.
spamming? how is it considered spamming?
Feydey,
I understand where you are coming from, but how am I spamming Wikipedia by including myself in the list of contemporary cartographers? By simply including my website?
Last week I donated my first commissioned maps to the Library of Congress' Geography & Mapping Divison, which means that my cartographic work will be preserved forever. It also means, unlike most contemporary cartographers, I have a body of work that should be of importance to wikipedia.
How then are those who are interested in seeing my work going to be given the opportunity to do so without a link to my website? For the last week I am been attempting to add myself to the list, but I keep on being removed.
What should qualify a person to be listed? If they meet the qualifications, would having a link to their personal website be considered spam? I do not see any reason for my name and my website to be not included on this page.
Thank you for your time & oversight. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.48.250.31 (talk • contribs)
- Firstly please consider registering a user name, so it would be easier to answer to You. Please notice that Wikipedia is not for self-promotion and advertising Your personal web-site. Wikipedia is first and foremost an online encyclopedia and not a place to link Your page. Please read what Wikipedia is about. Thanks, feydey 20:40, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
so if someone else decided to put up the link it wouldn't be about self-promotion? i get your drift. thanks for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.48.250.31 (talk • contribs)
