The party in Lithuanian language has the same name as the prewar socialdemocrats, therefore an attempt to create two different names: Lithuanian Social-Democratic Party and Social Democratic Party of Lithuania is rather artificial and confusing. Dirgela 11:46, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
But what about the party in the 1990s? I see that there is a redirect from the Lithuanian Social-Democratic Party to the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania. Does this mean the the latter should be seen as a direct continuation of the former? In that case it would be wrong to say that the party was founded in 2001. If it is correct to consider the latter as a new party, as it was formed by two former parties, then one should have two articles and not just a redirect. --Oddeivind (talk) 10:48, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
