Thanks to all of you for the interesting conversations that occur here. We are here to build an encyclopedia, so let's discuss how to improve as many of the 6,840,169 articles on Wikipedia as we can. Tips from Wikipedians on how to edit better, and on where to find resources for sourcing better edits, are always appreciated. I see other user talk pages have announcements about where each editor will reply to posts. Usually I will reply to your comments to me, posted here, right here on this page. I'll do my best to learn to follow to where you want me to read your posts, and where to reply to them, if you have a differing preference.
Please see my how I edit page for a detailed discussion of my approach to editing Wikipedia. Note that I am rigid and inflexible in respecting the core Wikipedia content guideline of respecting reliable secondary sources, so I read actual books and review articles rather than blogs or fringe websites when searching for information for updating Wikipedia articles. Experience has taught me that it is pointless to prefer the world of blogs for information in an era when academic libraries are woefully neglected. Professional academic librarians (who are severely underpaid, in my opinion) are well qualified to advise you on what sources are reliable and what sources are laughable in the opinion of thorough, thoughtful scholars. Ask a professional reference librarian at an academic library for advice on what sources are reliable and mainstream. The librarian will be glad to help. (And, yes, anyone who answers questions like this should be paid more to answer the questions than is usually the case.)
Please note. Somehow some editor has been disregarding the immediately preceding paragraph here, so let me be especially clear. I happen to work on pages that are subject to active arbitration remedies, and the related ArbCom case included site bans for some editors who have returned to Wikipedia as puppets. I cannot always be sure that comments posted to this page are posted by someone who had nothing to do with the case that triggered those remedies. Therefore I will make full use of my right to remove comments from my own user pages. "The removal of material from a user page is normally taken to mean that the user has read and is aware of its contents. There is no need to keep them on display and usually users should not be forced to do so." I have the right to clean up my own user talk page and will do so. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, we may as well remember that it's always hunting season for that kind of duck.

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, WeijiBaikeBianji. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
Translation help
Since you were kind/foolish enough to have your name on this list, here's a note that I could use some help with the mess of Mazu temples in Shanghai. There were three; the first two were destroyed; the third got moved to Songjiang and rebuilt; and then as of 2014 Zhabei was considering rebuilding their old one. So:
- The Shanghai Archives has an article on the history of the Zhabei/Songjiang temple whose citation I've already formatted for you but whose facts need to be translated and added to the Songjiang Tianfei Palace article and tagged with
{{sfnp|Feng|2008}}
. - The article is wrong on the date of the move to Songjiang but might be right that it was built in 1883 rather than originally demolished then as claimed here. It'd be nice if you had time to see if there was another official source. The temple's own official site doesn't mention it.
- The archive article and this article and (obliquely) this "About Us" page suggest that Zhabei District is rebuilding or has already rebuilt a fourth Mazu temple near the site of their former one. It would be nice if you had time to poke around and see if you can find anything official on the subject that I could use to create an article on it.
- Ditto any information about the other two original Mazu temples in Shanghai.
If you have time and interest for any, some, or all of that, great and please leave a note here saying so. I'm asking all the listed Chinese translators for help, so we wouldn't want anyone needlessly duplicating work. — LlywelynII 02:42, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
