Welcome!

Hello, Firemedics1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

I've tagged Manhsset-Lakeville Fire Department for deletion because the page in its current form has no content whatsoever. If you'd like to prepare an article before posting it, feel free to write it on your userpage or a subpage of that, but there's no need to create a placeholder article. License tagging for Image:100thpwfdlogo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:100thpwfdlogo.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:02, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Article under construction

[edit]

I see you have placed a notice on Port Washington Fire Department that you are currently editing the article. A better way to do that is to put {{inuse|30 minutes}} at the top of the page. Replace “30 minutes” with whatever time you think you will be working on the article. Be sure to remove the tag promptly when you are finished for the evening. Don’t leave it there when you are not actively working on it. ●DanMS 02:13, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Port Washington Fire Department

[edit]

Please read Talk:Port Washington Fire Department. Please create a heading (about the Fire Department) in the Port Washington, New York article. Thanks, feydey 17:47, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Pwfdlogo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Pwfdlogo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:00, 12 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 18:00, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image uploads

[edit]

Please note: Most images on the internet are copyrighted under terms that prevent them from being used on other sites, making it inappropriate and/or illegal to upload them to Wikipedia. Users who upload content with false license declarations, or who repeatedly upload images with no license declaration, may be blocked. feydey 18:13, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:100thpwfdlogo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. bluemask (talk) 10:11, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Ledimage1.gif

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Ledimage1.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is a redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Ledimage1.gif|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
