HI

I was creating a wiki page of our church as our church was mentioned in a main wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diocese_of_Madhya_Kerala_of_the_Church_of_South_India

This is the main page of CSI church Central Kerala Diocese and we (Holy Trinity CSI Church, Brisbane) is the only church in Australia, under central kerala diocese. I believe as per our Bishop's request all churches mentioned in the above link, is creating their respective church details in Wiki. Some people are already did for example CSI church Singapore. I have been trying this for last couple of days and someone always delete it. So I request you to add our page

I edited the articel named "Gjorgj Kushi" just as requested. I hope you accept it.

I have read about this controversy and wanted to see it covered on Wikipedia. Today was the first time I saw that anyone had done any work on it, after I saw an article on the web site of a newspaper I read. I ask you to look at my work on the draft (I told the author of the draft, who has done nothing since March and shows "semi-retired" on their talk page).— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 18:46, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There's way more now, and once I can find it, I have been pointed to a positive story about the church. There are two sections that are neutral. The average person may not approve of their rules, but they are not necessarily bad.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 22:27, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You never responded so I went ahead and finished it. While independent reliable sources are short on positive information (what I thought was a positive article was yet another article about abuse allegations) and the article is overwhelmingly negative, I think it's ready for article space and others can contribute and improve it. There's no shortage of positive information about the group on its own web site and other sites related to the group. How much of that we can use I don't know.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 16:27, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello MatthewVanitas, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 18,511 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.
  • Some editors are committing to work specifically on patrolling new pages on 15 July. If you have not reviewed new pages in a while, this might be a good time to be involved. Please remember that quality of patrolling is more important than quantity, that the speedy deletion criteria should be followed strictly, and that ovetagging for minor issues should be avoided.

Technology update:

  • Several requests have been put into Phabractor to increase usability of the New Pages Feed and the Page Curation toolbar. For more details or to suggest improvements go to Wikipedia:Page Curation/Suggested improvements
  • The tutorial has been updated to include links to the following useful userscripts. If you were not aware of them, they could be useful in your efforts reviewing new pages:

Remove derogatory lines from Nair page

As per Wikipedia editors, they never consider the details of Raj era. Then may I know why derogatory information such as Polygamy, Hypergamy, Thallikettu kalyanam, sambandham etc are included in the page. Those were practices of Raj era. Take Wikipedia serious. Its not a place to put your views and suggestions. Either go with the rule that no old Raj era customs will be included or take consensus from other editors and add non derogatory customs and prides of these caste and elaborate the page. Apparently it look like few has taken the control of few pages like Nair, Ezhava etc and I have seen you using derogatory statements in Ezhava as well.

Remove the derogatory line in Nair article. ""These people were then distinguished from others in the local population by their occupation as protectors, with the others all being classed as out-caste. Pullapilly describes that this meant they "... were given kshatriya functions, but only shudra status. Thus originated the Nairs."" — Preceding unsigned comment added by AbrahamPP (talkcontribs) 11:44, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear MatthewVanitas,

I have been editing Draft:Oktay_Arslan page and need some guidance for how to proceed. At an earlier date, you asked me to add more serious media and/or academic coverage of Arslan. I have edited the reference section and added several 3rd party sources such TV channels CNN Türk, newspapers, magazines that cite Oktay Arslan's work and resubmitted the page for your review. However, I've got the following comment by User talk:SwisterTwister.

Why will the news not be enough by that alone? If you check the page, you will see that there are only a handful of people. I totally agree that Draft:Oktay_Arslan is not as notable/popular as Nicki_Minaj because she has different assets, but I don't understand how Draft:Oktay_Arslan is less important/notable compare to other Kurdish scientists/engineers such as Azad_Bonni, Nadir_Nadirov. Draft:Oktay_Arslan has similar successful academic background like others, work at a leading research institution and deserved to be mentioned on Wikipedia.

Regards,
