Notice of Neutral point of view noticeboard discussion

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Neutral point of view/Noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

The article West Sussex Record Office has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability for this record office. I do know that the "Sussex Declaration" (copy of the Declaration of Independence) was found there; but the notability is of the Sussex Declaration, not the record office; and is already well-covered at Physical history of the United States Declaration of Independence.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You could have just reverted the last edit. I have no restored the new detail. However, it does still seem a bit drab having all those images directly below each other. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.97.202.98 (talk) 22:23, 15 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the article needs work, particularly the images but left/right is not the answer. Are you using mobile view? For BMD have you tried familysearch.org rather than FMP? Philafrenzy (talk) 22:27, 15 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

References

Please create proper references for your sources. Although if you leave the bare URLs a bot or someone using "reFill" will come along and do something with them, it doesn't generate as good a reference as you would be able to do yourself with just a little bit of effort. Thus a "reFill" user turned "http://www.countrylife.co.uk/property/beautiful-country-house-and-estate-in-the-heart-of-the-surrey-hills-160606" into ""A beautiful country house and estate in the heart of the Surrey Hills". 23 June 2017.", but it should be more like ""A beautiful country house and estate in the heart of the Surrey Hills". Country Life. 23 June 2017. Retrieved 17 August 2017." naming "Country Life". PamD 18:59, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am aware that some people don't use that tool properly (I don't use it at all) but I think you should be taking that up with them Pam. Philafrenzy (talk) 21:01, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Philafrenzy, do you plan to make the necessary expansion to this article so it meets the 5x expansion requirement, or should I mark it for closure? It's been a week since you were pinged. Please respond on the nomination right away. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:19, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
