Welcome![edit]

Hello, EMP Bart, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page John Draper, have removed content without an explanation. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can place {{helpme}} on your talk page along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 23:46, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

February 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm C.Fred. I noticed that you recently removed content from John Draper without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. If you have concerns about the sources—and the section you removed has multiple sources—please explain your concerns and provide sources that back your concerns at Talk:John Draper.C.Fred (talk) 23:53, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at John Draper, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. Ad Orientem (talk) 23:58, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please follow Wikipedia policies before correcting me.[edit]

Hi, thanks for your message. Because the information is defamatory, I followed the instructions and sent in an email to the address provided where I stated my relationship to Mr. Draper and why the material is defamatory.

Please review that information

Thank you. EMP Bart (talk) 03:42, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi EMP Bart, just an FYI, but I see you've mentioned material being "defamatory" a couple of times now; this could be interpreted as a threat to take legal action. Can I suggest you read our policy on regarding legal threats ASAP? There's ways to deal with your issues here without touching on that in any way. Take care! —SerialNumber54129...speculates 09:22, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Please see Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard#John Draper. I don't have time to investigate the issue but others may. It is not necessary to point out the obvious, namely that someone affected by negative commentary may regard the commentary as defamatory. In fact, it is in your interests to not mention that at Wikipedia because there is a strict policy regarding no legal threats. Policy pages are often confusing but the essence is that people are of course welcome to initiate legal action, but they must not use Wikipedia as part of that. Questions can be asked at WP:HELPDESK. Hello, these aren't legal threats. Libelous information is to be taken down per Wikipedia's instructions. Libel is a form of defamation. I was stating why the info is libelous by showing that all the elements of defamation have been met here. This isn't commentary that one may regard as defamatory. It is defamatory, and I'm seeking in good-faith to have the information removed as outlined in Wikipedia's policy.

Please follow Wikipedia's policy and remove the libelous information.

Sincerely yours, Wikipedia username EMP Bart

March 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard‎, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( in the enhanced toolbar, or if you use the old "classic" toolbar) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. General Ization Talk 04:15, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
