Live updates

Hi.

Please do not update statistics or scores while a match is in progress. Instead, wait until the match has finished before updating. At WikiProject Football there is a consensus not to add live scores and also a consensus not to update any statistics while a match is in progress. Without live updates it is easier to avoid duplicate information and errors from being published on the article.

Please keep this in mind. Thank you. Qed237 (talk) 20:02, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tennis performance charts

Thanks for editing wikipedia tennis articles. Just as a heads up, a couple things are against our consensus Tennis Project Guidelines. 500 level events (and below) are never placed in a performance timeline nor are jr level events. Otherwise thanks for helping with the updates. Fyunck(click) (talk) 10:09, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 9

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mischa Zverev, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Japan Open. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Junior timelines not allowed

As I place this I see your were warned about this already. To quote the Guidelines: "Results from the ATP World Tour 500 series, ATP World Tour 250 series, ATP Challenger Tour, ITF Futures tournaments, or junior championships should not be included and/or separated into timelines." It is located at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Tennis/Article_guidelines#ATP_players.27_performance_timeline if you'd like to check yourself. Please don't add it again, and please help us remove the offending timelines. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 08:04, 8 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Jeremy Jahn

The article Jeremy Jahn has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I see no wins on the ATP tour or the minor league Challenger Tour. No Davis Cup appearance or no Junior top 3 ranking. This is a non-notable tennis player per Tennis Project Guidelines

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. This week Jahn is playing a ATP Challenger in Gwangju, Korea. He won his first two matches and is going to play the quarterfinal tomorrow. This success pushes him up to a new career high ranking. BundesBerti (talk) 10:55, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Jeremy Jahn for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Jeremy Jahn is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeremy Jahn until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:57, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the Tennis Guidelines

Reading the Tennis Project Guidelines (especially on player articles) will help with having to delete articles in the future, and save you time and effort. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 19:02, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Florian Mayer - top 10 wins

How do you know a walkover doesn't count as a win? They don't go towards FedEx ATP H2Hs, but I thought they were still wins. I mean, a walkover in a title match doesn't mean that title is voided. Rovingrobert (talk) 09:12, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Look here for an example: http://www.atpworldtour.com/players/novak-djokovic/d643/player-activity?year=2014&tournament=605

Win-loss record of 4–0. So the final vs Roger doesn't count as a win. It also doesn't mention on Novak's Wiki page: Novak Djokovic career statistics#Top 10 wins

Hmm, that's pretty damning evidence then. Thanks for sharing. Rovingrobert (talk) 10:41, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Record against top 10 players

Where are you getting the statistics for these charts? --Escape Orbit (Talk) 16:28, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I see you've re-added what I reverted in Ivo Karlović. Could you please answer my question above before re-adding again? Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 21:02, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, H2H records are from the ATP site and stevegtennis.com, because ATP make some mistakes on the surface. The players, who have been ranked in the top 5 and higher are here, the others I searched for when I created the 'Record against top 10 players' section on the Tommy Haas page.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Brian Baker (tennis), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Fairfield (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Walkovers are never wins or losses... they are simply walkovers

In tennis, never categorize a walkover as a win or a loss per the ATP/WTA. It is usually just called a walkover.. it's a match that was never played. I guess in certain charts it could be simply called a runnerup, but never a loss nor marked as one. Fyunck(click) (talk) 21:45, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Open Era tennis records – men's singles

Hi, you added the Top 25, 50 and 100 ranking records to the Open Era tennis records – men's singles article. Can you provide a source for this data? Is it listed somewhere or did you calculate it manually? --Wolbo (talk) 19:14, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I had the lists from a tennis forum (http://www.menstennisforums.com/2-general-messages/400881-weeks-top-5-top-10-etc.html + http://www.menstennisforums.com/29-federer-express/208741-fed-stats-most-weeks-top-2-3-5-10-a.html) and checked them with the ATP site. --BundesBerti (talk) 12:17, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
