Please post new messages at the bottom of this page, or click here to start a new section which will automatically be placed at the bottom. I have formatted my archives in groups of 30, and archive messages off my main talk page after a while. If you wish to revisit an archived discussion, please copy and paste all text, formatting included, to the bottom of this page.
I will always respond to anything placed here on my talk page (ie. here). If you are asking a question, I will post a message on your talk page with a link to the section that I answered you in. Alternatively, you can watch this page.
If you wish for your message to be private, click this link to correspond via email. Under most circumstances, I will not post the details of any email recieved on any Wikipedia page. However, I do reserve the right to publish, in any form (entirety or section), any emails recieved for any purpose at my discretion.
I archive my talk page often. To see archived messages, click [ Show ] in the above header to view the archives. Please remember, do not edit the archives - if you wish to revisit a discussion, copy all text, including formatting, onto this page. Thanks, Daniel.Bryant
Help needed!!
Hey Daniel, I have a favor to ask. I just put up a blue box on top of my page. Can you make it the same size as the DYK box just below that? How I wish I knew html.. (Yeah, probably I will be eligible for a user page award in fifty years :) -- Lost(talk)06:31, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Are you admin? You may want to look at this too: User:Tourettes Guy and User:Shirlena. Having some problems - deleting stuff from their own talk pages, reinstating a G8 talk page (Talk:Tourettes guy), possible sockpuppets and here for only one reason - to reinstate the Tourette's Guy article.--HamedogTalk|@08:49, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Daniel.Bryant. This is a quick message to remind you that all 5 finalists for the Esperanza User Page Award have been chosen. You now need to judge those 5 pages, awarding each one 1-10 points for attractiveness, usefulness, interesting-ness, general niceness and quality of subpages. Refer to the Scores section at the project page if you are unsure of how to score.
Why? And if you're not going to be, who will? Shreshth91 said he was going to promote me to overseer after this round, but this obviously hasn't happened yet. Please, can you just do it for this round; we'll sort it out in a better way for next round? It'd be great if you could, to make things easier and less confusing for the judges. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant[ T · C ]10:54, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Mariners Logo.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Mariners Logo.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. RFA thanks from Mike
Thank you for your Strong Support on my recent RfA, which I withdrew at 16/20/4. The criticism I received will hopefully result in me learning becoming a better editor, and thanks again for your support!
Hey, I just saw your comment on here and I appriciate it, it means a lot to me. Too bad I turned down the RFA for now :( but still, seeing that made my day a lot better :) semper fi — Moe02:11, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was wondering of you could help me out with getting votes for expanding an article I started a while back. My old US Australia relations article is currently being considered for expansion by the Wikipedia:Australian Collaboration of the Fortnight. To vote, go here and scroll to the bottom. Thanks! Hi Daniel, I am planning to take additional approval for LostBot. Can you tell me what needs to be done in the project that you listed on my page? -- Lost(talk)12:34, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Football AID 5 – 12 November
Thank you for participating in the Football AID vote this week.
Michel Platini has been selected as this week's collaboration. Please do help in working to improve it.
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.
Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.
Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.
