Born in El Paso, Texas, Vickie Guerrero is the wife of late professional wrestler Eddie Guerrero and a professional wrestling manager. She has two daughters with her late husband Eddie Guerrero. Their names are Shaul and Sherilyn Guerrero. She has made appearances at different venues in memory of her late husband such as collecting "The Star Of the Mountain Award" in Eddie's hometown, El Paso, Texas, and speaking on WWE.com about Eddie's induction into The WWE Hall of Fame. At WrestleMania 22, Vickie and her nephew-in-law, Chavo Guerrero congratulated Rey Mysterio on the stage ramp following his victory over Kurt Angle and Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Eddie Guerrero's family remained on the WWE payroll to help them out through the tough time and will remain on the payroll, getting the amount of money Eddie was being paid until his contract runs out. [citation needed] However, at the Vince McMahon-Chavo Guerrero press conference mere hours after his death, Vince stated the Guerrero family would continue to get royalties forever.

Vickie has stated in her WWE Hall of Fame induction speech that although Eddie would have wanted her to remarry, she never will. [citation needed]

SmackDown!

In 2005, Vickie began to make important cameo appearances during a feud between Eddie and Rey Mysterio which had escalated when Eddie promised to "tell the secret" of Rey's son Dominick. Vickie came on with her two daughters on the July 14 episode of Smackdown to stop Eddie from revealing Rey's secret, which he eventually promised to do so should he lose to Rey at Great American Bash 2005, though that turned out to be another one of his character's trademark lies. Vickie later reappeared at SummerSlam 2005 to try and talk Eddie out of his war on Rey, but when that failed, she had to cost him the match.

In 2006, about 7-8 months after Eddie's passing, Vickie finally started appearing more prominently during a feud which sparked out between Rey and Chavo when Chavo betrayed Rey and accusing him of being "nothing but a leech living off the blood of the Guerrero name", a declaration he made on the August 7 episode of SmackDown. A fight broke out after that statement, and Vickie came out to separate it, following which she tried to play peacemaker between the two friends turned (kayfabe) bitter enemies until after she seemingly inadvertently interfered in the Chavo vs. Rey match at SummerSlam 2006, costing Mysterio the match. She then betrayed him and sided with Chavo on the very following SmackDown, hitting Mysterio in the back with a steel chair. She would then declare herself Chavo's business manager and Rey an "insignificant chapter" in her past.

On October 8, 2006, at No Mercy Chavo lost to Rey Mysterio in a falls count anywhere match, after the match Vickie was crouched over Chavo screaming at Rey Mysterio. The very SmackDown after, on October 15, Chavo and Vickie challanged Rey Mysterio to an "I Quit" match. On October 22, 2006 Rey Mysterio quit after he was stuck in a light tower off to the side of the stage. Mysterio had the advantage until Vickie interfered with one of Mysterio's high flying moves. Chavo then took advantage, bashing Mysterio's leg with a chair until he quit. Mysterio was then taken out of the arena on a stretcher.

On October 27, 2006 Chris Benoit went up to Vickie and asked her what was going on with her and Chavo betraying Rey. Vickie simply just said, "Now Chris, Rey never gave my family a chance to move on and I know that you and Eddie were also very close, but not as close as you thought."

Trivia

  • Vickie's participation in the Rey vs. Chavo angle has been the subject of much criticism since it was first announced. Many have seen it as disrespectful and distasteful to Eddie's memory, despite (or perhaps because of) Rey Mysterio's continued involvement in Eddie Guerrero 'tribute' angles.
  • Vickie never actually managed Rey Mysterio or Eddie Guerrero. However, during her SmackDown! appearances, commentator JBL continues to say that Vickie was "in Eddie's corner" during his life and "in Rey's corner" between then and the feud with Chavo, thereby crediting her within kayfabe as a spiritual or inspirational assistant to both Eddie and Rey's world championship reigns.
