The answer to your first question is clearly that the angle of incidence of the ray at both lens surfaces is a right angle. Hey, MeKL, please don't say that! That makes me sad. You've come here, wanting to contribute to Wikipedia, and so you should. Yes, we do have our rules (actually, rather a lot of them!), but the basics are simple, and I hope you'll stay. Just 'Be bold'; start editing and learning by making small improvements to pages you have an interest in. Maybe correcting spelling errors, or simplifying wording. Later, you might want to learn how to add citations (references) to support any statement that you see or add which doesn't prove the statement to be valid (based upon what we like to call Reliable Sources). You were wrongly left a rather scary warning by another new editor. I have removed that and I have asked them to be a little more careful to other newcomers in future. So, please don't leave us - but have a go at improving articles and come back to the Teahouse if you hit problems, or need help. Should not have gotten a Warning

MeKLT - a new member of Wikipedia had a misunderstanding of the functions of Warnings, put one on your Talk page. It was removed, and that editor was advised that one rule of Wikipedia is be nice to new editors. I hope you stay on, and find ways to contribute.
