Michael Malice (born Michael Krechmer; July 12, 1976) is a New York City-based ghostwriter, author, columnist, and media personality.
Malice is the co-author of books with D. L. Hughley,[1] Matt Hughes,[2] Michael Fazio,[3] and others. He is the co-creator and founding editor of the humor blog Overheard in New York.
Malice's early life was the subject of Harvey Pekar's biography Ego & Hubris: The Michael Malice Story, which was illustrated by Gary Dumm.[4]
He is the author of Dear Reader: The Unauthorized Autobiography of Kim Jong Il[5] and a regular columnist at Observer.
Since 2014, Malice has been a regular guest on the Fox News and Fox Business Network shows The Independents,[6] Kennedy, Red Eye, The Greg Gutfeld Show, The Story with Martha MacCallum, and Tucker Carlson Tonight. He is also a regular guest on The Tom Woods Show podcast and has appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience and The Rubin Report.
On June 6, 2017, Malice joined Compound Media, on which he hosted a weekly show on Wednesdays titled "YOUR WELCOME."[7]
On May 29, 2018, Malice moved "YOUR WELCOME" to the GaS Digital Network, where it airs Tuesdays at 12:30 PM ET. He also began broadcasting a new late-night talk show on Compound Media titled Night Shade with Michael Malice; it airs four nights a week at 11:00 PM ET. On occasions when Malice is unavailable, the show is jokingly referred to as Absence of Malice and presented by a guest host.
Malice is an anarchist[8] and has written publicly of his disbelief in the concept of voting.[9]
