Nicole Carroll (born 1967) is an American journalist. She is the editor in chief USA Today newspaper in the United States.

Early life

Carroll was born circa 1968.[1] She grew up in Canyon, Texas.[1] She graduated from Arizona State University.[2] In 1996, she received a master's degree from Georgetown University.[2]

Career

Carroll began her career by working for El Paso Times and the East Valley Tribune.[2] She worked for The Arizona Republic from 1999 to 2018, first as an editor, and as vice president of news and editor from 2015 to 2018.[2]

Carroll succeeded Joanne Lipman as the editor-in-chief of USA Today in February 2018.[1][2]

Carroll was awarded the Benjamin C. Bradlee Editor of the Year award from the National Press Foundation in 2017.[1]

Carroll has three children with her husband Bradley Hartman.
